in fifteen minutes from now, that will mark exactly a year since the universe decided to really take a stab at me and just decided to keep poking.
exactly a year since my world turned upside-down, and still has yet to get back to normal.
i guess this means that it won't. i mean, if it hasn't in a year...

well i suppose i should sleep now.

As far as things getting back to normal, you're right... things will never, ever be the same way they were a year ago, nor in a year will they be the same as they are now. With every day we live, with everything we experience, our normal is altered. The norm of this past year may not be so pleasant, but it won't always be that way. Things will change, you'll get a new normal, and you'll grow to be content. Happy, even.
I believe that.

Secondly, a year. Have you noticed that years seem to be getting shorter and shorter? A year when we were 5, and waiting to turn six, was drastically longer than our freshman year. And this year seems to be going by so much more quickly than last year. Even if that relativity of time isn't accurate for you, my point is that a year really isn't that long. Green Eggs and Ham... that was a year ago, you tell me all the time that I shouldn't be expected to be over it in that length of time.

I love you with all my heart. Trust me, life will get better. ♥

secondly, years no longer seem to be 365 days, it feels like every year it gets shorter by at least a week. it is ridiculous. but i guess that just means that we need to treasure the time we have right now while we have it.

so i guess the moral of the story is carpe diem. i hope we never forget that.
