So today was the first day here in Iowa that gay couples could apply for a marriage license. For that matter, a few even got married today

That's good to see. Though the URL seems to indicate tomorrows date; perhaps foreshadowing of things to come.

Right after posting this, I happened to refresh the MSNBC page and noticed they had posted the AP story that some of the Iowa papers published today.

The Des Moines Register, go figure, seems to have the best coverage.

i didn't realized yesterday was the first official day, and now i guess i shouldn't be surprised that i didn't know.

yay iowa for being so cutting edge, but it's sad that its progressive tendencies aren't more widely known.
