All Aboard the Birmingham Express

So…as noted in my previous post, I got to go spend some fangirl time with ez_as_pi down in Birmingham, AL. Why Alabama? It happens to be the halfway point between where I live in Ohio and where Pi lives in Texas. :D And honestly? Not a bad ten plus hour drive.

Guess what weekend we picked to hit Birmingham? Talladega weekend. If you follow NASCAR at all, ( Read more... )

Ohh. I love the last one, too. They had a bunch of fall displays set up outside their gift shop. Made me very happy to be surrounded by the lovely.

Oh those are really great pictures. I love the pictures of the roses - so pretty. YAY for a Pi weekend and how did I not know you were in Ohio? That's where the majority of our family is.

Anyway, glad you had fun.

LOL at not being a NASCAR fan and ending up there on Talladega weekend.

Thank you! The roses were so gorgeous. The pictures don't do them justice. The very last picture of the roses? They looked more red-orange than pink and almost looked like flames flickering when the breeze moved them. Pretty damned awesome. :)

Pi Weekend was truly great. And yep. Lived in Ohio since birth. With a brief furlough to Atlanta for about a year right after graduation. I'm in central Ohio about an hour northeast of Columbus. :D

Hee. Seriously, NASCAR is okay, but not something I'm chomping at the bit to see. Would love to take Mr. Sky to a race though. :)

OH wow, I love roses that look like that. So glad you got to go see all that in person.

Huh, I had no idea. I grew up in Ohio. We moved there when I was in 5th grade and I didn't leave until I went to college. Came back for a few years and then left when I got married. But I still have tons of family there. My parents have a condo there and one in Florida. And now my in-laws live about an hour from my parents.

Oh so you're close, my family is in a suburb of Columbus and my in-laws are in Springfield.

Well, maybe one day you'll get to take Mr. Sky :D
