Who: Roxas (
key_destination) & Tsuna (
captain_dame)
Where: Tsuna's room
When: The night they switch back from the body swap.
What: Roxas checking up on Tsuna & dealing with his cursed scar
Warning: Fluuuuffiness like whoa
The light beat of Tsuna's heart is still stuck in his mind even when he opens his eyes to his own room and looks down at his own hands. All the warmth that he felt just a day ago is gone and he familiarizes himself with the hollow ache in his chest. The swap back and forth is still overwhelming even if he had returned to where he belonged and he wonders how Tsuna's feeling- being back to his normal self. He wants to know now and he doesn't think it's too much of a bad idea to go see him at that moment. Standing up shakily, Roxas opens a dark corridor and steps through it and into his friend's room.
Tsuna wakes with a start, chest arching and eyes opening painfully wide as he takes a sharp breath. He stays like that for a seemingly endless second before he collapses back onto his bed. Hands pat over his body and settle over his chest and he sits up, staring at the darkness of his room before reaching over to his bedside to turn on a little lamp. A grateful little smile touches his lips as he steadies his breathing, but it's quickly put out by sympathy at the thought of the previous owner of his body. Sure Roxas is more than familiar with how his own body feels, but he can't help but feel bad for the Nobody for losing the feel of what a heart feels like.
Appearing out of the darkness, Roxas blinks at the light before forcing a small smile on. "Heh, feeling better?" he asks as he walks over to Tsuna's bed, not bothering to hesistate for a reply. Taking a seat near the other teen's legs, he looks around the room for a moment while trying to hold the smile steady. It's hard, but he manages as he finally looks Tsuna and the smile becomes a little more genuine.
Tsuna's clutch on the fabric over his heart tightens and he meets Roxas' gaze, not even trying to smile. He just feels so bad for the Nobody and it shows through with the pinching of his brow and the set look in his clear brown eyes. "Yeah, but-" The Don shakes his head. "How are you?" He can't even imagine how empty the other must feel, to long for a heart, finally get one and then have to give it back so abruptly.
The smile disappears and he looks sad for a moment before a mild expression spreads over his face as he glances down at Tsuna's hand. "...Same as I ever was," he says quietly while his gaze lingers for a little too long as he tries to bring back the memory of Tsuna's heartbeat. "I'll be fine." His voice sounds slightly clipped as he meets Tsuna's gaze again. The memory itself is fading, will fade, and he knows it all too well...Too bad.
He lets go of his shirt and sets his hands down beside him on the bed, still looking worried. "But you won't be the same will you?" Tsuna blurts out and then catches himself, eyes going from serious to surprised in a split second. A loud slap resounds as his hand meets his forehead. "Ignore that! I didn't mean to say that and if you say you'll be fine then you'll be fine!" The boy's voice trembles as he scrambles to find words that make any sense of what he'd just said.
His eyes narrow at Tsuna's outburst, but soften as he watches him try to smooth things over. Reaching out, Roxas grabs Tsuna's wrist so he can't hit himself again and smiles apologetically. "I don't really know, to tell you the truth." His gaze drifts down to Tsuna's arms, then to his chest, and finally back up again. "How're you feeling, anyways? I did train with Reborn, after all."
"It's a big difference..." Tsuna muses aloud comparing the feeling of having and not having a heart as he watches Roxas' gaze travel none too discreetly to his chest. "Oh!" He gives the Nobody a light-hearted smile and waves his uncaptured hand dismissively. "Stiff, but that's normal... what did he make you do, run around the entire ship a hundred times?" He laughs airily. Muscle pain is nothing.
"Heh, something like that," Roxas replies warily, not really wanting to give all the details. The only significant moments that he remembers were when he had scrapped his hands or did something to make the bleeding start and how desperately he wanted to use a Cure spell to stop it. But now, with his body back, he becomes silent while summoning a Curaga spell to take away Tsuna's aches and pains- of course it wouldn't do anything for him, but...The magic glows a dull, green glow in the darkness and Roxas finally lets go of Tsuna's hand. "Is that better?"
It's always surprising when Roxas uses his magic, especially when it's to cure him, but this isn't something entirely new to the Vongola Captain so he sits still and just lets it happen. Once the light fades he rotates his arms and turns a little, smiling as his muslces flex with less resistance and his movements aren't halted by the ache of use. "Much better." Tsuna smiles, finally flopping back into his spot on the bed and slouching comfortably. It's as if he'd never trained at all! Which he hadn't, but he's sure Reborn had planned on this being some kind of lesson for him. He wouldn't be feeling the training if he did it more often, but he'd never liked working out like crazy and usually his laziness would outweigh the desire to feel no pain.
"That's good..." Roxas smiles as he makes himself a little more comfortable on Tsuna's bed while watching him flex. Leaning back and using his arms to brace himself, the Nobody stares up at the ceiling while still clinging to the memory of a familiar beating. He thought it would be easier to remember around Tsuna, but his eyes squeezes shut and his eyebrows furrow for a moment as he struggles to remember.
'Is he upset?' The Don thinks, turning to face the other boy, watching curiously as Roxas' face scrunches up in thought. He leans forward slightly, tilting his head to the side. "What's wrong?" Roxas had helped him, maybe he can help too? "Are you sure you're alright?"
"I just-...I don't want to forget," Roxas murmurs as he opens his eyes again and looks at Tsuna, hoping he would understand. "Maybe I won't be alright." The comment leaves him before he can think about how much Tsuna would worry. But he was just telling him the truth- it was such a short time, but he would just have to adjust to his own body's emptiness again.
'Don't want to forget-? Forget wha-" He looks confused for a second and then his face brightens in understanding.'Oh!' He does understand, but he's not sure how to help and he doesn't want to just sit there and worry; it won't do either of them any good. Tsuna knows Roxas will be alright, he'd survived long enough without a heart, but he understands that it must be severally frustrating. Tsuna places his fingers on his wrist, locating his pulse even though it's beating loudly enough in the silence of the empty room that he can hear it. Taking Roxas' hand he guides it to his wrist and places it over the steady pulsing under his pale skin. He then gives the Nobody a questioning glance, unsure if what he's doing is at all helpful or just silly.
When his gloved hand comes in contact with Tsuna's wrist, Roxas begins to smile a little as he feels the beat under his fingers. "Hmmm..." Tsuna's trying his best, he knows this, but it's not the same and he eventually pulls away in order to stand in front him. His movement is quick as he leans forward to push Tsuna back against the bed though he has no idea what he's really trying to do. It's just automatic- the way he wraps his arms around the teen's waist and doesn't even stop to ask if it's okay. One part of him wonders if this is what Yoruichi meant by "cuddling" and another finally attachs what he's doing to the word "greedy". But he continues on, pressing his head against Tsuna's chest and just holding him there to listen.
He returns the smile, but it slowly drops as Roxas moves away from him and stands before him. "What are you do- HIE!" The young boy squeaks as he's pressed backwards, resisting, but failing as arms wrap around him in more of an embrace than a forceful grab like he'd expected. Roxas had looked upset after all. "Ehh.." His voice whispers lowly as he struggles to find something to say. "Roxas?" Tsuna asks softly, worried for his friend. 'What do I ask?! Are you alright? You're laying on top of me! What do I do?'
Roxas mumbles something into his shirt, but it's lost as he tries his best to concentrate on Tsuna's heartbeat. It's a soft sound but strong at the same time, pumping like a bird's wings that he just scared away. He lets out a soft sigh, the unconscious tension in his shoulders leaving him as he continues to listen.
Tsuna lays still, pleasantly surprised by the sigh that comes from Roxas, relieved that he isn't crying or angry. The boy laying on him seems content, comfortable and he isn't about to ruin it. So he raises a hand carefully and sets it on the Nobody's shoulders. He isn't pushing the other away; the movement is almost a kind of reassurance.
The rhythmic beat lulls him into an odd sense of security as Roxas feels Tsuna's hand on his shoulder. A combination of warmth and fatigue seem to fill his senses for an instant and he knows he can barely keep himself awake if he stays like this. "I want...." He trails off as he pulls away, only to press a knee into the edge of the bed and his hands move to just above Tsuna's shoulders to support himself. Pained blue eyes study the boy face's beneath him and he can't imagine the heart he just heard disappearing forever. "I...I want to protect you, Tsuna."
He blinks a few times, slowly processing the words that are said to him and letting them sink in. The pain in the Nobody's eyes is visible and it makes his heart throb for a painful second because he's not sure what it is that Roxas is so sad about. Tsuna blushes brightly and tries to give his friend what he hopes to be a smile and not a grimace. He's flattered, really, but he doesn't think the statement is really meant for him, but the muscle beating inside of him. "T-Thanks.... err that's nice, but you know I can take care of myself too, right?" The Don worries his lip, uncomfortable under that stare.
"I know, but..." Roxas looks away, his gaze unfocused, "...But I-I don't want to risk losing you..." There's too many things he wants to say, too many pictures in his head that are connected to those words, and it almost hurts to think about everything. His only method to calm down is to shake his head, take a breath, and pick a place to begin with. "When Gokudera turned into a zombie- when you wanted to go see him...It really hurt to think of you going through it too..." The Nobody mumbles, losing his thoughts again and trying to reorganize.
He listens on, watching Roxas carefully. "..." Tsuna really doesn't know what to say. It's completely normal not to want to lose friends or have to watch them go through a transformation like Gokudera went through. So he waits patiently for the Nobody to say what he needs to say to make him feel better, smiling faintly and sympathetically.
"And...I don't want you to be sad either," Roxas continues on, avoiding Tsuna's gaze as he grips the sheets under his hands, "I know I messed up sometimes, but it really hurts when you're sad and I just want you to be able to keep smiling because hanging out and having ice cream together and all those moments-" He cuts off his sentence to press a hand over his nonexistant heart, "They're all really important to me! And I don't want to lose you because you help me forget about how empty I feel!"
Tsuna's eyes widen and his eyebrows shoot up in surprise only to soften and he raises a hand to press over the gloved hand clutched at Roxas' chest. He isn't quite smiling, but it's still visible on his face and threatens to upturn his mouth. "I-" He chokes because for someone without a heart, that was one of the most touching things someones ever said to him. "Are you sure you don't have a heart?" When he says this his face breaks into a bright, toothy smile that pushes his cheeks up to narrow his twinkling gold eyes.
He only nods briefly at the question because the smile Tsuna gives him makes him like to think he'd have a heart so it could beat fast for him. With his other hand still pressed against the mattress for support, Roxas slips the other from underneath Tsuna's hand only to touch his cheek near the corner of his lips. His expression is soft as he studies his friend's face again while he matches it with a grateful smile of his own. "...That's what I like- that kind of smile."
His smile turns nervous and he turns his eyes away under the soft gaze of the others. The blush that had been on his cheeks fades back into existence at the touch of Roxas' hand. "You don't need to have a heart to be my friend Roxas." The Don teases, looking back up with a knowing little grin. "And if you can say all of that to me and feel that way then I know there's more in you than just darkness." As he says this he pokes at the spot where the Nobody's heart should be below the leather coat.
Roxas chuckles lightly before pulling his hand away to touch where Tsuna had poked him. "If you really think so...then maybe you're right." He grins back a little, the emptiness filled up with Tsuna's words for the moment. "I'm not so bad off after all, huh?" He begins to move away now with his question, shifting so that he can roll over onto the bed next to Tsuna.
It's a good thing Roxas still wasn't listening to his heart because it's beating so frantically that it resounds in the little brunettes ears and it might startle the Nobody. He takes a shaky little breath now that there's room to breathe again and Roxas isn't looming over him. "Of course not! You may be a Nobody, but you'll always be a somebody to me!" He chirps, turning over onto his side, rolling and curling close as his friend lays down on the bed beside him. His eyes are pinched shut in a little smile, unaware of just how close he'd brought himself to the blond.
"A somebody?" He smiles at that and again his hand curls over where his heart should be as he imagines a rhythmic, phantom beat. "Heh...Thanks, Tsuna. That means a lot," he says as he turns onto his side to face the other boy, oblivious of how close they really are.
Really, what he'd just said can't even come close in comparison to what Roxas had just spilled to him. He's sure there are probably other people that Roxas' felt that same way about; other friends who made him feel less empty. But a compliment's a compliment and it makes his chest swell nonetheless. "No prob-!....-lem" Tsuna says, stopping and stalling as he finally opens his eyes. The other boy is so much closer that he's scared to move he'll bump or kick the other. Roxas doesn't even have to imagine that phantom beat, it's thundering so loud that Tsuna's pretty sure anyone in the room could hear it. "Ah..." He takes in a sharp little gasp of breath and studies the others face for a second. One arm is tucked under his head and the other is a hair away from the cool fabric of the Organization cloak.
The distance between them is almost little to none; only a little movement of Roxas' hand and he's touching Tsuna's fingertips. He blinks slowly, eyes taking in every detail of his friend's face before he smiles slightly at the gasp. "Hey...Tsuna? Will you close your eyes again for a second? Please?" His voice is soft and quiet so as not to make him too jumpy.
Tsuna doesn't even answer Roxas little plea. He snaps his eyes shut and reaches forward to grab the front of the Nobody's cloak, holding the fabric carefully. Breath is on his face, so when he stretches his neck out to gulp nervously he's not at all surprised as his lips meet skin. It's not meant to be a kiss, but he doesn't yet realize he's doing it.
Roxas' eyes widen slightly at the hand curling into his coat and the light touch against his lips. He honestly hadn't expected it, but his eyes slowly close before he leans in a little- pressing their lips together more. And in that second he waits for something, anything, as he takes in the feeling of a kiss.
Tsuna leans in comfortably, a content little smile on his lips as he kisses Roxas. Wait. Kissing. Roxas? Kissing?! Honey eyes pop open and a heart beat later he's pulling himself away from the Nobody, face bright red and jaw slack in surprise. "...!" He stumbles for words to say, clearly confused as to why he'd just kissed one of his best friends.
Eyes fluttering open as Tsuna pulls away, Roxas stares back at him with an unreadable expression. But something's definitely different and he can feel heat in his cheeks as he turns his head to bury his face in the sheets when he let's out a little chuckle. It's a soft, almost understanding laugh, but he really has no clue what he's doing at all. Looking up again, Roxas smiles somewhat bashfully back at Tsuna with an apologetic look in his eyes. He doesn't bother to say anything though.
He just stares in shock as Roxas laughs into his bedsheets, face on fire and his eyebrows furrowing. He's humiliated and what's worse is that his friend is just laughing at him. He can tell that Roxas isn't so much laughing at him, but it still bothers him nonetheless. With total embarrassment on his mind, the young Don grabs a pillow and promptly buries his face in it. Tsuna begins talking into it, apologies and ranting muffled by the plush of the cushion. "It was on impulse. I didn't mean to do that I swear! That didn't happen. Ughh...what is wrong with me!" It's too muffled to make out and all that's clear is the upset tone to his voice.
It's amazing how fast Tsuna begins to apologize and the Nobody gives him a worried look yet somewhat reluctant to pull the pillow away. He stays silent and props himself up on his elbow; he's oblivious to how much his nervous chuckle had affected his friend. "....'It just felt right'," Roxas finally says, repeating what he heard the first time he received a kiss. Somehow, the words seem to fit perfectly like a puzzle to their situation. At least for him...And the hollowness echoes again because maybe Tsuna disagrees entirely.
Tsuna stops his apologizing the moment Roxas speaks and peaks up at him over the pillow. His gaze is skeptical and unsure. "...what was that?" He doesn't believe he heard you correctly, Roxas.
The Nobody looks at Tsuna for a moment, smiling a little to himself that he actually stopped apologizing. Pausing, he shakes his head and reaches out to pull the pillow away to get a better look at his friend's face. The smile is still there for comfort, but his own gaze is worried when he moves closer to drag Tsuna forward and into a hug. "...I said 'it just felt right'."
His face glows an even darker shade of red as he's pulled into a hug and Roxas repeats himself. Sure it felt natural, but it's still a kiss and he'd done it on pure impulse; without a second thought. His heart hammers away in his chest and he's almost too stunned to respond, but Roxas looks nervous and he want to make it perfectly clear that there's nothing to be worried about. "I-It was nice..." The Don whispers, bowing his head and trying not to be overwhelmed by the fact that he just kissed one of his best friends. Does this mean he has to start treating the Nobody differently? The feeling in his chest makes him want to run away, pull his hair and scream all at the same time. He just might, but not now. Not with that look Roxas is giving him and not with the way he's being held.
Humming a little in response, Roxas finally presses his face against Tsuna's shoulder as he continues to hold him. Something catches his attention and it's not just a memory- he can hear Tsuna's heart beating. He doesn't seem to remember what Miranda had said about hearts beating fast because he so focused on the rhythm. It's a distant sound, but he knows he's so close to it right now that he smiles faintly into Tsuna's shirt with another relaxed sigh.
He gets even more nervous when Roxas doesn't say anything and the fact that he knows the other is listening to his heart just makes it beat that much faster. Whereas the Nobody gets comfortable, Tsuna gulps and hesitates before lightly wrapping his arms around his friend and takes a deep, soothing breath. He just tells himself to calm down and enjoy the embrace. Roxas isn't demanding anything from him or asking him any questions. It seems that he just wants to be close and the Vongola Captain doesn't mind it all that much. It was actually kind of nice; if not the slightest bit creepy.
This would certainly be what Yoruichi would call "cuddling", but he really doesn't know exactly what to do. Is he supposed to say or do anything beyond this? Yoruichi hadn't been descriptive when he had asked her about those sort of things. At least Tsuna seems to have calmed down even if his heart beat had quickened a moment before. Not knowing what to do at this point, Roxas doesn't bother to let go but takes an experimental step in slowly rubbing Tsuna's back.
The brunette gasps, it's quiet and surprised. He turns his head slightly, looking at the Nobody curiously, still embarrassed and confused by his actions. There's a nervous smile on his face as he hesitantly questions his friend. "Hehe, are you alright?" Tsuna can't help but to compare the blond to a small child, testing it's boundaries. Why on earth was he being cuddled? Does Roxas think him upset or is he feeling lonely? Maybe it's possible his friend is equally confused and this is just how he's choosing how to handle it?
His hand pauses at the question and he shakes his head. "I'm fine," Roxas mumbles quietly into Tsuna's shirt before loosening his hold and moving to make eye contact. Their faces are close, but not the same way as before and they're far enough apart that a little movement won't end up in an immediate kiss. "What about you?" he smiles back at the brunette when he asks just to prove that he's okay.
Tsuna nods back shyly, being eye level with the Nobody making him nervous once more. "C-couldn't be better!" The Don squeaks, patting his friends shoulder and pulling back just a hair. "Do you feel lonely?" He asks, still trying to figure out exactly why Roxas had felt the need to cuddle against him without seeming too distressed.
"Ah-..." His eyes widen in surprise and his arms slowly drop away from Tsuna. The idea never occurred to him that he was actually lonely. He just wanted to hold Tsuna in that moment, but maybe he was really reaching out for a different reason. Looking confused for a split second, his real purpose of hugging his friend is lost in all new thoughts before he looks away with an embarrassed expression. "...Maybe." How could he not know?
"Oh. Well, you don't have to." Tsuna says, smiling and giving the Nobody's unmarred shoulder a comforting squeeze. His chest swells unconsciously and there's sympathy and care shining in his eyes. All he wants to do is be there for his friends and if he can do that by being held then he has no hesitations to comply. Even if loneliness isn't the reason he's still happy to be here for Roxas for anything he needs.
Nodding slightly at Tsuna's words, Roxas slowly returns his sheepish gaze back to the other. A small smile forms as he studies his friend's face and the look in Tsuna's eyes makes him want to hug him again. But he refrains, still not quite sure why he would want to do all of this now. "Alright," he nods again before adding in quietly, "...I'll be here for you too, okay?"
"Thanks, Roxas." Tsuna beams and hesitates for a second before lightly embracing the Nobody. He doesn't pull away even though his hold is gentle, because now his face is twisted into something slightly sad and grateful at the same time.
He blinks at the light hug he receives only to break out into a genuine smile. The Nobody notices the hesitation, but it doesn't bother him as he returns the hug; his arms slowly wrapping around Tsuna to not get him nervous again. It felt so nice to just hold him like this- to be able to relax and relieve himself from the hollowness that's always aching.
The Don releases a shaky sigh, embrace tightening around the Nobody as he buries his face into Roxas' shoulder. His eyes slowly shut as he settles into his friend's hold. There's just so much that he owes Roxas for and he doesn't know where to start.
His expression softens even more as he feels Tsuna ease into the hug. There was nothing to fear, nothing they were crying over, and that made the contact all the more comforting. With a small turn of his head, Roxas can feel Tsuna's hair tickling his face while he quietly holds the teen. He doesn't dare to try to break away because he's completely fine like this; taking in every sight and sound with Tsuna in his arms.
"Thanks for being there, Roxas." He whispers, cuddled up,trying to think of only the good things about his last visit to the sub. "I couldn't have saved Gokudera-kun without your help." Thinking back on it he knows he was a total mess and if Roxas wasn't there then he would have been a goner for sure.
Staying silent for a moment, Roxas begins rubbing Tsuna's back again as they drift into an uncomfortable topic."It's okay. I'm just glad you didn't get hurt," he replies in a hushed voice, his fingers fanning out and moving in a sluggish, circular motion. Those few days were harsh on them both, but if Tsuna had gotten bitten, he was sure he would've broken down completely from it.
Tsuna feels like a small child being soothed from a nightmare; being reassured everything is going to be alright. Even though he's slouching further and further against Roxas, he won't admit he's calm enough to fall asleep. The brunette heaves another sigh. Speaking of getting hurt... "So, is there nothing you can use to heal the bite from Gokudera-kun?" He remembers the throbbing pain that would occassionally act up and rear it's ugly head around the scar on that pale shoulder.
The pressure of Tsuna's weight feels comforting and eventually he closes his eyes as if to fall asleep. Only Tsuna's sigh and question stirr him and his hand slows to a stop. As if being called, the scar prickles and makes him wince but he tries his best not to react to it enough to alert Tsuna. "No...I don't think there is," he replies calmly, not bothering to touch the spot or use a healing spell.
"C-can I try to help?" He asks hesitantly, raising a hand towards the scar but being careful not to touch without permission. Tsuna turns his head to look past Roxas' head to gaze at his injured shoulder.
"...If you want to, you can try," the Nobody says after a moment. He doesn't want to discourage Tsuna, but he can't possibly think of a way for his friend to fix it that he hasn't tried. "I'm kind of used to it already, so it's not that bad."
"It hurts!" The boy squeaks, releasing Roxas to rummage through his pockets to find his gloves. He'd know, he had to go through that pain too. Tsuna slips on his mittens and quickly swallows a dying will pill, taking deep breaths as he calms himself. The flame on his forehead glows a bright orange, almost clear and he raises a single glove to it until the material is aflame as well. "Alright, let me see it."
He feels so much more colder when Tsuna leaves his arms, and he blinks when has he pulls on his mittens. Now in his dying will, that side of Tsuna that he's fought before, Roxas doesn't seem to mind the change and obediently unzips his coat with a small nod and shrugs it off his shoulder. The scar shoots spikes of pain through his body, making him hiss in discomfort as the material brushes over it.
One unlit hand rests on Roxas' uninjured shoulder, holding him still and slightly kneading at the same time. His eyes stare intently at the marred flesh as if his gaze alone can help ease the pain and see the curse. The flame on his glove grows lighter and cooler. "Just let me know if this hurts." Tsuna whispers in warning, gently lowering his hand onto the scar. It's a complete shot in the dark, his flames aren't sun and aren't healing, but he's used them to purify once.
Roxas doesn't know what to expect when he relaxes into Tsuna's grip on his unmarked shoulder. It's only when the scar is touched that his eyes squeeze shut and he let's out a choked groan. It feels like something's writhing under his skin and he suddenly feels sick as he turns his head away. "...Tsu-...Tsuna..."
He quickly moves his hand off of Roxas' scar, letting it hover over his shoulder, but not touching. "What is it?" The Don questions, a look of serious concern in his eyes as the Nobody groans.
Roxas opens his eyes quickly and his hand shoots out to pull Tsuna's hand farther away from the wound. The bruised skin is still there, but the shadows underneath are moving slowing, spreading out from the bite mark. It's infected, he can tell that much, but the rate at which it's working is slow and Tsuna was just aggravating it to work faster. "...We need to get rid of this now," he murmurs, still staring at the scar.
Golden eyes pop open in alarm as he watches shadows swirl and twist below Roxas' skin and he feels panic shoot through his stomach and chest. "But how?" He thought Roxas had tried everything and that scar didn't look so good. It looked alive.
His mind races for a moment with his hand squeezing a little tighter around Tsuna's wrist. "I never tried-..." Biting his lip, Roxas finally averts his gaze from the sick looking skin to Tsuna and searching to make eye contact. "Tsuna, I...need you to burn it. Maybe if we can get rid of the bad part, the rest of it will come back fine once I heal it."
Even though the fabric of his glove gives to Roxas' grip, he can hardly feel it, but the look on his friends' face is worrisome. "Burn it?" Tsuna's brow furrows and he looks from the scar to those serious blue eyes. What Roxas is saying makes sense, but it's not a very pleasant thought.
"Yeah...J-just do it, okay?" He can't tell if he's just feeling sick because of the thought or because of the wound, but he just wants to get this over with and out of his system. Roxas' free hand clenches against the bed as he moves Tsuna's closer towards his skin. "Please, get rid of it."
The flame goes out the closer it's pulled to Roxas' shoulder and he gives his friend a sympathetic look. "But.... it will hurt." He doesn't like to use his flame for hurting others, but he has to remind himself that this will help the Nobody in the long run. Tsuna's not refusing his friend's plea, he's just unsure about it's consequences and doesn't want to possibly do more harm than good.
"I know...I know it will," Roxas says shakily, looking over the glove and then at his friend, "But I don't know what'll happen if it stays any longer." His grip on the bed loosens and he moves his hand to cover Tsuna's on his uninjured shoulder.
Tsuna too bites his lip. He's never intentionally burnt someone before and wonders what kind of pace he should go at. If he burns Roxas too fast it might do more bad than good, but if he goes too slow it will really be painful and take too long, he doesn't want to torture Roxas. "Alright..." Tsuna takes Roxas' hand off his own and holds it carefully as he places the gloved hand back on the scar. "Ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be," the Nobody replies after a morbid chuckle. Even if Tsuna hadn't agreed, he would've dug out the curse by himself later.
He lightly traces the bite mark watching as the shadows travel around the bruised skin. There aren't any flames around his glove, but the heat coming off of it causes the air about to warp and waver. Tsuna chances a glance at Roxas' face as his glove, like liquid metal presses to mold around the injured and infected skin on his friend's shoulder. His other glove is cool as it squeezes the Nobody's comfortingly.
Roxas has always worked with fire, has been burned severely several times, but nothing can prepare him for the feeling of Tsuna's glove on his shoulder. He can barely contain his yell of pain as he grits his teeth with eyes squeezed shut. Mind going fuzzy, he feels his skin smoldering away, the curse within it writhing again as a dark mist pushes past it to meet Tsuna's hand. The only comfort he can find is with the assuring touch to his other shoulder and a Cura spell forming within him to unleash once the cursed skin is gone.
"Not much longer..." The Don whispers, sweat forming on his brow and shining under the light of his dying will flame. His glove is white hot and he presses his fingertips to the center of the bruise, circling at the dark mist. It pains him to hear Roxas in so much pain, but he'd asked for this.
Everything is just a blur of pain and heat, and Tsuna's voice comes to him distantly as he's gasping for air. Just when he thinks he's about to pass out, the cursed skin gives way and dissolves underneath the burning glove, leaving him shuddering in its disappearance. In that second, the dark mist that would've been his blood breaks through into the air, ghosting up Tsuna's hand. "St-...S-stop..." Roxas can barely get the word out as he releases the Cura spell to close up the wound and recreate his skin.
Tsuna pulls his hand away as he sees the darkness crawl from under his hand and up his glove. The moment it's removed the glove cools down and he inspects Roxas' "blood". The light from the curing spell calms the Don down a bit. "Is it gone?" He's rubbing at Roxas' unmarred shoulder soothingly, looking at Roxas' face for reassurance.
The Nobody only let's out a tired groan as the magic works at bringing forth a new layer of skin, umarred , raw, but healing all the same. With barely enough energy to sustain the spell, he wants to assure Tsuna that he's going to be fine although his mind still hasn't stopped being blurred over in shock and pain. It's when his body begins to cave forward, eyes still shut, that his mind rests for a moment in the dark.
"Roxas?!" Tsuna cries, flame dying into tiny trail of smoke as he changes back. He reaches forward to catch his friend, pulling him close and shaking him lightly to get the Nobody to respond. It's great that the wound is healing, but he hadn't meant to cause his friend such intense pain. When Roxas doesn't respond, the brunette carefully lowers the Nobody onto his bed. He leans over Roxas, examining the burn mark and bites his lip in concern. The skin is raw and not healed completely and he can't just let his friend lay there because he's the one that made him pass out. So in a rush of concern he runs to the bathroom to locate a first aid kit. When he goes back into the room his hands are full of bandages and various containers of ointment. He places some medicine onto his fingers and gently rubs it into the skin. Tsuna knows Roxas isn't human, but he just wants to help. "T-That should do it..." He sighs, pulling away from his friend to look at the bandaged shoulder.
Consciousness wavers as he hears his name and he releases a shaky sigh in response after Tsuna's done bandaging him up. But the fatigue of his mind doesn't let him wake up. He just wants to stay within the darkness, only it's hard when Tsuna's calling out for him and trying to help. Finally, blue eyes flicker open, staring distantly at his friend's shirt as he comes to. "Tsuna...?"
"Roxas!" He squeaks, taking one of Roxas' gloved hands into both of his own. "I'm sorry!" His eyes are large and watery as he apologizes. "I tried to keep them from getting too hot. I'm sorry." He had warned the Nobody that it would hurt.
"...It's okay," Roxas replies almost absentmindedly as his fingers curl around Tsuna's hands with the little strength left that wasn't drained out of him. His head feels like it's spinning and his gaze still has that distant look as his voice grows softer. "It's alright...I'm used to that kind of thing. And Tsuna was only listening to me..." He's talking to himself now as his mind wavers again between consciousness. "Maybe when this is over we can have ice cream together," he murmurs, a small smile on his face as his eyes close, "And it'll be even better because I really really like Tsuna too..." And he's back in the darkness again.
"O-Of course we could have ice cream together..." Tsuna whispers, happy his tired friend is responding...even if it is a bit disconnected. He pets Roxas' hand comfortingly, but it stills at his final words before he passes out once more. He heaves a heavy sigh and looks over the other boy's resting face once more before laying down himself. Rest doesn't come easy to him, still shaken up by the Nobody's screaming and confused by Roxas' ramblings. It probably didn't mean anything, so he turns onto his side to face his friend. He scoots closer, careful not to disturb the other as he rests his head on top of Roxas' spiky blond tresses.
