So it turns out the guy I was going to fight (same height and experience) is replaced at the last minute by one of his trainers! 6ft3 and very experienced!
I was nervous as hell as I hate fighting people taller then me when I can't grapple.
Here is the breakdown:
1. I start with two solid jabs, connect with the second moving forward.
2. He circles and throws a lazy jab that misses.
3. He throws a body kick and I catch him with a straight cross then jab coming out.
4. He throws a push kick I evade.
5. We exchange jabs.
6. He throws two jabs, I cover and close the distance pushing him against the ropes.
7. We clinch and he manages to spin to the center because his corner pushes him in the back (I only notice this reviewing the vid, not legal!)
he throws two knees into my body.
8. I respond with a right hook to his head and he disengages.
9. He gets a body shot and moves out.
10. He gets a body kick I respond with a jab.
11.He dives in with a chop kick which I check.
12. We exchange leg kicks.
13. I attempt to bounce to my right to circle out bouncing and bounce straight into a left hook to the bridge of the nose which drops me.
I feel consciousness slipping and decide not to continue after a standing eight.
FUCK!!!
I immediately think my nose is broken as it pisses blood and swells up. I'm so disappointed in my performance, I know I was better then him and I know I can do so much better.
I feel like I've let everyone down and feel like shit.
When I get home I watch the vid that my wife took and break it down.
On reflection it wasn't so bad, If I hadn't jumped into that hook who knows what would have happened? I certainly wasn't losing the fight up until that one mistake that cost me everything.
I just want to do it again now! fuck.
*edit and thanks to all for the advice and replies to my post:)*
