Peeps.

Marshmallow Peeps seem to be an American cult thing, from what I can tell. For those in the UK who've never seen such things, they're very artificial looking marshmallow birds. For easter. I don't understand. But still, you should all take a look at the Washington Zoo Peeps diorama contest.

They're not just birds! They also come in bunny form in a wide variety of pastel colors. I love my Peeps.

Ah, but the chicks are the real Peeps. The bunnies are just pale pastel imitators.

I've never totally gotten the Peep thing myself -- we were never that into them when I was growing up. Perhaps it's more of an East Coast phenomenon?

I did, however, buy myself a plush Peep-shaped Easter basket this year.
