Well, here I go! I have never journaled in public before, but no time like the present, I always say. Let's see...where to begin? I will begin with my new life that seems to have taken on a life of its own ever since I winked at Jeff Schalles on Salon.com less than a year ago. Hi--welcome to LJ! I have known Jeff casually for mumbledy-mumble years, from Minn-Stf. I was pleased to hear the news of your impending marriage, and a new house as well. We have four kids, in a similar age range to yours--21, 21, almost-18, and 14. I hope to meet you in person some day soon.

Greetings from the frozen cornfields of Illinois. Looking forward to the "Big Ass" party. Will try to get a big ass for the occasion. Note to self: sit on ass more.

Well congrats to you Jeff and best wishes dearie! Wow! This is so exciting and I know you're bumping into walls with happiness.

I've really enjoyed getting Alex's emails and reading his journal. What a great experience he's having. Is Lillian over there now? Isn't she going over to visit fairly soon?

Wish I had something equally as exciting to tell you. Let's see...the remodeling job I'm having done is in it's FOURTH month now, but supposedly carpeting will come this weekend! Yippee!

Mom is doing well but slowing down a bit - well she's 92 so she's allowed. Her 95 yr old sister will be out from Tennessee in a couple of weeks. You remember meeting her at Steve's b'day bash. Thelma and Louise. They're something.

Send pics of the small ass wedding and big ass party. I'm working on my own big ass as we speak....I quit smoking and have gained a amazing 20 lbs. Your cousin Annie has also quit and Steph's trying....
