Hi everyone. Well the last few weeks have been one exam after another and i'm feeling a little overwhelmed. I'm not quite finished yet but thought that I was due to send along my thoughts on the readings for last week. Both the essays, "Our Daughters, Ourselves" and "Don't You Think It's Time to Start Thinking" were really great

I know exactly what you mean at not being prepared for collage. Very quickly, I realised how I looked at things might not be the best thing. Even now, a year later I am not sure if I have grasped everything.

It's very true in how Cameron notes that our parents do so much to protect us from the outside world that they are actually, unconsciously setting us up for disappointment. There are occasions where things aren't always rainbows and ponies.
Perhaps they weren't actually setting us up for disapointment, but showing us that the world is not just full of disapointment, but there are rainbows and ponies too!

I agree with you about the second essay, most people have to 're-think' the way they approach things in school once hitting post-secondary, although it may be a good way to slap some people in the face to get their act together!
