I am a liberal; I'm more liberal than Clinton, that's for sure.
That is very nice to hear. Over here we are somewhat grimly bemused by the so called "liberals" that we see on the US political stage - here their politics would be considered conservative.
That is very nice to hear! It's bizarre how some very middle-of-the-road US policitians are labeled as these wacky liberals. This country is so conservative. It doesn't make sense to me. Maybe half the country is responsible for putting out & enjoying pop culture which continues to push the boundaries further and further, and the other half gets so freaked out by this, that they try to revert to the imaginary "good old days" and start voting conservative? I don't know.
On a slightly off topic, Bill Clinton had visited Turkey in 1997, and he was te first American president to visit Turkey since ... what's his name, the guy after Nixon and before Reagan. And my brothers and some of their friends had gone to Istanbul to throw cheap cigars at his head. I had wanted to go too but mum wouldn't let me (she couldn't stop my brothers, she was dead scared they would get arrested). Anyway, my brothers didn't even manage to get close to him, let alone throw cigars at his head. It would have been fun if they had though. This brings back memories :-)))
Hee! The whole cigar thing was so surreal. It was such a kinky little detail to find out about the President. And honestly, I liked him more after all that, because he seemed so much more human.
