Ha.

My mom just called and tried to guilt-trip me into going to a "ladies night" at her church. A ladies holiday party. At a church. Hmph. No. I am proud that I did not let motherly guilt sway me. Not only would it have been extremely unpleasant, it could have been distasterous. How could I make small talk with them?

ugh.
I intensely dislike going to church and dealing with most other churchy people.
This is particularly problematic for a Christian.
who shops at Hot Topic
and enjoys a good porn story any day.

I so sympathise - my mother and my cousins are heavily involved in their church. They accept my position, but when I visit, there is always this tension dealing with any of their circle of church oriented friends who just assume that I am of the same mind. I'm too forthright to lie if questioned on it, so I try to avoid them and the subject, but it can be tough.
