30 Days of Fandom: Day 1

1 - How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?

I've been making up further adventures for my favorite characters for as long as I can remember. I suspect it goes back to a mild Annie obsession when I was four. (And by mild, I mean that I can still stage a one-woman rendition of the movie, dialogue included.)

The first time I became aware of fanfiction as a concept was during The Sentinel's run while I was in high school. I don't recall how I tumbled across it, but I vividly remember printing out Chris Williams stories 10 pages at a time at the county library.

The first - and for a long time only - fandom that I wrote for was The Magnificent Seven. I grew up on westerns, and I waaay over identified with JD. Plus the show tickled my nascent H/C leanings. Found families are one of my favorite story tropes and I adored the bond between the guys.
