I thought (UNSURPRISINGLY) Seth MacFarlane was a pretty terrible host, with only a couple of notable exceptions (the Sound of Music joke was great, as were his jokes about the length of the show, but truly EVERYTHING ELSE WAS AWFUL). But! Having said that, I still enjoyed this more than I've enjoyed the Oscars in several years. I was super invested

They had some very funny bits (like Shatner everything) mixed in with a lot of unfunny and often offensive tripe. Next year, they'll retreat to someone considered safe, I'm sure.

The awards themselves were interesting and nicely distributed around, even if I disagreed with some individual picks.

They should have Hugh Jackman host again. Just because I want to watch him sing and be foxy.

But seriously maybe they should just consider going to the old Globes model of not having a host, because...yeesh.
