This sort of weirdness happened to me once before. I usually get electronic notification of new bills from the credit card company in addition to paper statements. Just before I left for a 3-week trip to India I had received a renewed card with a new number. When I was in India, I never got an electronic notification that a new payment was due because my Credit Union's online payment system could not understand that I had a new credit card number

I suspect that something like what you described (next x months).

I have been staying debt free as well - I'm using Amex for Costco... that's another story.

I didn't think that DSL or phone bills would be suspect, but it makes sense.
