Clothing/Appearance:

One glance at Del's icons will tell you that Delirium takes on many, many different appearances. Canon shows that the Endless take on different appearances depending on who's looking at them; they are that transient and conceptual and often tend to fit with the times and places. Most of them have a typical appearance, though: Death looks like a peppy goth girl; Dream looks like a stuffy, tall, black-clad guy in his late twenties with little glowing blue dots for eyes; Despair is naked and obese with sagging breasts and ratty hair; and so on. Delirium, however, really takes the cake here. She eats it too.

Delirium's appearance can and will change rapidly. These changes may or may not be intentional on her part; they may have meaning, they might not. She can hold onto her chosen form for quite a while, but due to her nature those around her for extended periods of time will probably witness quite a bit of shapeshifting. Never go strictly by icons for her appearance; they can be used to indicate to changes, but I really don't use them for that purpose. All are free to notice or not notice changes; I tend to list the important changes in [action brackets] in my tags.

Bodily Form: Delirium tends to appear as a thin, flat-chested adolescent girl. Her skintone tends to be pale, a trait common to the Endless, but the exact shade may vary. She's on the short side, probably under 5' tall.

Eyes: Look carefully and you'll notice that the colors don't match. One is green with silver flecks. The other is vein blue. Unless you catch Del on a really bad day where she has to seriously pull herself together, I doubt you'll ever see them be the same color.

Hair: Del's hairstyles are notorious. Typically messy yet arguably stylish in the eyes of the goth/punk crowd. You could see her with anything here, and I do mean that. Dreadlocks, wavy curls, tangled poofy messes, mohawks, buzzcuts with random stray tufts, asymmetrical cuts and trims, anything. The colors are also varied. Solid colors do happen, but you're more likely to see two or more in the form of color streaks or random colored patches. You can and will find the entire rainbow in her hair. Hair length tends to run all the way from very short punk-style trims reminiscent of Annie Lennox to long wavy locks ending somewhere past the shoulder. And the kicker: her hair can and will change right in front of you. It also may move with an unnatural sway about her, as if underwater.

Clothing: Del likes all sorts of clothes, and not all of them look that stylish. Her chosen wardrobe runs the full gamut from t-shirts that go past the knee to a torn and tattered tutu with fishnets full of holes. Long overcoats and jackets are worn open (or partly open) to reveal her flat chest, and she may or may not be wearing a fishnet shirt to give her some semblance of decency. Dresses and skirts are a go, just as much as pants, shorts, and culottes. Her outfits are more drab than her hair, typically solid dark or light colors with some patterns. They make her look like some unkempt gutterpunk ragamuffin, more like she raided Ragstock than Hot Topic but whatever. Jewelry is sometimes a go, typically earrings or bracelets and sometimes even a nose spike. The only consistent thing you'll notice is that Del tends to go barefoot.

Shadow: Delirium's shadow never reflects her shape. It could literally take on any shape but hers, and it's not really a part of her in that kind of respect. In the shark post co-run with Agito, some of her tags indicated that her shadow looked like waffle irons, bows and arrows, and 'not the shape of a shark.' Also, it's tangible like velvet.

Around Delirium: You will often see schools of fish surrounding Delirium. They swim around in the air and don't need water to survive. These are independent delusions that can be as realistic or unrealistic in form as she wants them to. They can also be considered an extension of herself. You might catch them singing. Or talking. In addition, you might see winged things flying around her. They can be any sort of object, living or inanimate, with the lovely addition of wings.

Non-Humanoid Forms: Delirium appears to prefer a humanoid form for her corporeal body. That said, she is capable of taking other forms. Usually you'll just see her turn into a fish, or a whole school of fish. One time in canon she specifically took the form of a shark. I believe there was one instance where she lost control and spontaneously became a flock of butterflies for a moment. You might also see her take the form of other animals, though this doesn't seem to have as much of a direct link to canon. It's more of a "why not?" since she IS capable of choosing her form.

Habits/Mannerisms/Body Language:

Walk: Delirium's gait goes from balanced to swaggering to uncertain footing. This is understandable since she usually goes barefoot and would be more sensitive to the terrain underfoot. She may randomly feel compelled to start dancing or sway back and forth.

Posture: This runs the full gamut. Del isn't one for consistency, and her body language is expressive and prone to erraticism. She fidgets and shifts around, but can sit/stand tall just as easily flop onto the floor and caress it with her hands because she likes the texture. She's both open in her gestures - flinging her limbs out, splaying herself out in a lounge, etc. - and closed - huddling in on herself, hugging her arms close, etc. Plenty of head tilting. Those sorts of things. She is generally oblivious to how much she stands out due to her body language.

Verbal: Delirium rambles. She is perfectly capable of complete sentences, but you will hear a lot of incomplete or run-on sentences. Coversation fillers like "um" are not uncommon. She can go on and on and on for a while, then suddenly trail off. Her voice itself is about midrange, and her speech is dynamic, erratic, sometimes scattered sounding. Very expressive of her mood. Higher ranges when she is excited, both loud and quiet. Probably sounds very dismal and sniffly and sobby when she's been crying.

Personal Space: Del prefers to do the touching; if you're too close of your own volition she may step aside or back. She doesn't mind contact however, or people (or not-people) being in her 'personal space.' The thing is that she's more prone to go invading yours. :>

Expressions: Evvvvvverything. I do mean everything. Pure joy, pouting, confusion, wonderment, anger, annoyance; you name it, Del will show it with both her face and her body. She is prone to dazed looks for when she tunes out, big smiles and laughing when she's amused, open-mouthed silence when stunned, hard stares and outbursts when upset, and that's only the beginning. What you see is generally what you get, given that sometimes what you see can be deceiving.

Current Residence(s):

Delirium is omnipresent, everywhere at the same time.

... Okay, that's a bit of a copout. She is, but usually not in a form visible to people. In her corporeal form she tends to stay wherever she feels like it. Given that she gets lost easily, this could be anywhere.

Typical Daily Routine:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm sorry, but there's no such thing as routine when we're talking about Delirium.

... Okay, okay. She does her job, which is to control sanity and delirium. And she likes to go visiting people. And not-people.

Favorite Haunts:

Anywhere a technicolor princess would like to be. Around the "open air markets" (anyone with a shop in Camp), at the "beach" (around the lake), and much more. Anywhere that crazy people like to congregate; she spends a lot of time visiting them.

Does she make her own bed?:

Literally or figuratively?
