( Eep, I haven't commented in a really long time.:( )
I hate the way it's going right now. I've been looking for a new family doctor for a few months and every single one I'm interested in is either not compatible with me (as in, doesn't listen to me) or is not taking any new patients. Gah. I've searched http://www.cpso.on.ca/ so many times, but it only gets updated once a year. >:( The walk-in clinics are USELESS for multiple visits. The doctors never make an effort to remember you (understandable, since walk-ins are supposed to be emergent).
Good luck with the new doc. Here's hoping he/she actually does something for you. <3
aww no worries about the commenting...its all good.
Yes I hate when they don't listen to you and do things there way, well I'm sorry but maybe I don't agree with that form of treatment!! ugh...I hate when people don't listen to you. especially when it has to do with your health...i think YOU know more about your own body than someone else does.
Credit Valley Hospital has a referral line (also a list on their website) of doctor's who are taking in new patients. you could give that a try...*shrugs* I also had two other doctor's that I could go to if the above one fell through. One is on Lakeshore and he is taking patients as early as next week, and the other is near Hurontario and Dundas. She is taking new patients in September. I can try and find the numbers again for you if you like to try and give either of them a try...let me know!
uh yeah its f-ing ridiculous!!! i mean i have been with out a family physician for YEARS now! so i have had my FAIR share of crap ass doctors at the clinics, not to mention when I got extremely ill 4 years ago TWO different doctors at walk in clinics mis-diagnosed me and I ended up in the emergency room at credit valley and THAT doctor misdiagnosed me!!! So I don't trust clinics and doctors at all!!!
I'm hoping since I've had good luck with the doctors in Oakville this doctor of Josh's will be good. (He is in Oakville..LoL.)
Awww see when I go to walkins I have the joy of telling them what I KNOW is wrong by the clinical name and then just having them give me the damn amoxiciliin.
I do need a doctor though and I think after what you went through I will be calling in a favour from the chief of surgery at Toronto General....he's gotta know someone.
yeah see I don't know what's wrong with me half the time and neither do the doctors so it requires them to do all these bizarre tests. I am a weird one when it comes to health problems.
Yeah I'm sure that doctor can get you in somewhere..maybe. It's like mission impossible to find a family physician in Mississauga!
well this doctor i'm seeing doesn't even know who Josh is or who is family is. the doctor i am seeing is the new doctor taking over for Josh's original doctor. so this new doctor may not even ask and his mom may have said i was Josh's girlfriend when she booked the appointment for me. regardless all i have to do is switch my pretty pink ring to the other hand and i'm goooood! ;)
I'm glad you got your appointment. It's the same thing in Quebec.
In Montreal, in particular, it's impossible to find a family doctor. I'm lucky I work at Concordia and can use the University's clinic - so I have a regular doctor there. If I wasn't at Concordia, I wouldn't have a family doctor.
I've heard it's easier outside of Montreal, because the provincial government has a rule that says that new doctors in Quebec have to spend X number of years working in places other than Montreal or Quebec City, because if there was no such rule, the smaller cities and towns would have almost no doctors.
Oh geex sweetie,I didnt know you were having some health problems. I hope your doctor can figure out whats wrong, and I hope its something minor.
I think health care is just shitty in general. Theres this excellent Diabetes Specialist in my city, but I cant see him because of my health insurance. Sucks ass.
Yeah I'm sure whatever it is its minor, I just need to convince my mother. LoL.
Yeah see you guys have to pay outrageous amounts for health care, we don't. That is probably the ONLY good thing about our health care, I think it used to be better but recent cut backs etc from the government have made it horrible. I'm sure walk in clinics are extremely under funded.
