It isn't that I hate my job

It's just that I hate the way I feel right now. I feel like I'm stagnating, yet I am fully aware that the biggest drain on my energy is that the work is dynamic and challenging. I guess I just want to relax while I'm on the clock, yet that seems wholly impossible. I don't think I'll ever be a happy worker because getting good results seems to be ( Read more... )

i think people with big jobs like yours (emotionally, physically draining) end up going on super great vacations even if they are only a short weekend long. you don't have any kids to tie you down or suck your money so your outlet might be traveling. that's what zo and shaw tend to do. they squeeze in awesome trips to miami, ny, costa rica whenever and wherever possible. the point is don't forget to reward yourself for the extraordinary job that you do every single day. i hope you can catch a break soon!

Thanks, Amer! I am actively trying to do just what you say...two weekends from now we're going on a road trip to Phoenix for a three-day weekend to attend my friend's wedding. After that, I hope we can snag another day off to help get us up to Yosemite National Park for a long weekend. At the end of May, if things work out, we'll fly to Indiana for the Indy500 for another long weekend. I am just a wuss when it comes to stress...:o(.
