[It was Sunday today. That meant today was the day Cheyenne had to do something she hated doing more than anything else in Luceti.]

[Grocery shopping.]

[She can be found walking around inside the grocery store, holding an empty bag at her side. Every so often she picks something up, frowns at it, and then puts it back. Occassionally she might shake ( Read more... )

[Since this is officially Luke's first day out of the house (no, him going out to meet Xion does not count since that was only like ten minutes outside B|), he insisted on shopping for groceries, if only to actually get out and run around like he's been wanting to do for a while. He's in a coat - buttoned up, at that, and a scarf, so he's properly bundled up. He's about to pick out something else to place in the bag... but then he notices Cheyenne and what she's doing.

Now, Luke doesn't want to be rude, so he tries not to watch her... but he can't help subtly trying to do it anyway, by keeping his head down towards what's in his hand - some salt, and watching her with his eyes. Huh. What's she doing...?]

[It's not as though Cheyenne doesn't make a rather strange sight: one would think shopping would be easier without wearing a blindfold, after all. She picks up two boxes of instant noodles, one with chicken flavor and the other with cheese flavor. After staring at them for a moment, she looks over at Luke... somehow knowing exactly where he's standing even with the blindfold on.]

Pardon me for disturbing you, but could you tell me which of these are chicken flavor? While I am not usually so picky in what I choose, the last time I was here I found the other flavor to be... rather inedible.

[Why would you shop with a blindfold - why would you even wear a blindfold in the first place - oh wait she's talking to him.]

Huh? ... Oh. [He hesitates because, really, why doesn't she just take the blindfold off, before he points at the chicken flavor... then thinks better of it and taps it instead.] That one's chicken... The other one's cheese.

[She looks down at the one he pointed at and places it in her bag, putting the other one back on the shelf... and then maybe pushing it far to the back so she never has to see it again.]

If that is how cheese is meant to taste in whatever world this food is from, I do wonder how it is they cope with it. [She turns back to Luke, her expression somewhat blank... until she remembers to smile. Then she does so.]

Thank you. I would have so disliked returning for a second trip here had I accidentally chosen the wrong item.

[It was Kaori's first day being outside of the clinic and fully able to get around on her own in nearly two weeks, so of course she's taking full advantage of it to walk around the village like she often did, adjusting to being able to walk again despite the occasional wave of pain rolling through. Heck, she's even trying to hum a little again, though it's not very loud.

But when she comes within close proximity of Cheyenne she stops abruptly, feeling unsettled. She knows there's someone there, but for someone who was so finely tuned in with emotions and often used them as a means of getting around and identifying others, there's little doubt someone who... lacked didn't seem like the best word, but how else to describe it. Kaori will be looking her way, curious as usual.]

["Lacked" might very well be the best word, given how Cheyenne is very literally missing a good chunk of her soul. Although she doesn't realize Kaori is looking her way, she does sense that someone is nearby and they've stopped moving. She doesn't recognize the soul as someone she knows, but it is one of the ones that has stood out since it appeared in Luceti.]

[Despite the blindfold, she turns and looks directly over at Kaori. Not creepy at all, right?]

[Not at all if she can't see it, right? She can't help coming closer, drawn to the lack of emotions from Cheyenne, even though it might just be dangerous. Too bad she's never been one for self-preservation, or she would have bolted in the other direction by now.]

[Cheyenne watches Kaori slowly make her approach for a few moments before deciding to speak up. She wasn't usually the sort to start a conversation when she was just relaxing, but something about this girl interested her. She's never seen a soul like hers before, after all.]

Hello. Are you looking for something?

[Evening is always one of the more busier times, with cooking-challenged individuals sneaking in for a quick meal; and when Sanji's head pokes out of the kitchen for a quick head count, he's not surprised to spot a familiar blond in the restaurant.

At this rate, he should consider designating one of the tables permanently hers.]

Cheyenne-chwan~! [There's a familiar whirl of pink-hearted emotion heading towards her.]

Here for dinner again?

[He really may as well; she usually sits in about the same spot every time. She might seem a bit different than usual right now though; whereas she usually tries to greet Sanji with a smile, today she doesn't even look up from the table.]

Hello Sanji.

[... Ouch. Shot down. He teeters mid-whirl and now looks at her with more concerned curiosity]

Are you feeling okay?

I suppose... I am not. [She sounds a bit unsure. She's frustrated, but isn't sure how to explain what that feels like, which only adds more frustration... it's a vicious cycle. Her expression remains neutral.]

It was not my intention to come here for yet another meal, but it seems I am rather incapable of preparing a meal for myself.

[Mm. Ginko likes the river, too. Even when it's sheathed in ice, in places-- the current is strong enough to hear the water running and running underneath.

And on the bridge-- a familiar outline. Familiar in a way...]

Hey.

[Cheyenne likely sees Ginko and recognizes him as one of Sanji's friends before he speaks up. She's usually in a good mood when sitting near the river, so he even gets a bit of a smile.]

Hello. You are one of Sanji's friends, yes?

That's right. [a slight smile, as he wanders to the railing near her.] Mind if I join you?

Not at all. [She even scoots over a bit so there's more room... and so he doesn't sit too close, seeing as she can't be touched.]

[One more reason why spring needs to come - Shikamaru's tired of all this snow. Seeing the girl trip, he halts and turns back towards her.]

Oi, you all right?

[Cheyenne was all right, but if she had pride, it would certainly be bruised. Not only did her bag of groceries spill over the ground, she face-planted rather spectacularly into the snow.]

[She sets herself up on knees and shakes the snow from her hair before looking up at Shikamaru.] I am all right, yes. Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence.

How troublesome. That's gotta get annoying.

[He steps closer, kneeling to pick up some of the items.] Your grocery bag still in one piece?

I suppose it does, but I have accepted it as something unavoidable in the wintertime. [She gathers her bag up into his arms and checked it over.] My bag appears to be fine, but I believe I lost a few items...

[She manages to see one of them nearby and plucks it out of the snow, but the others... not so much.]
