Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Smoker is 6 feet and 6 inches, give or take an inch. He's stocky, thick upperbody, extremely toned and muscled, thinnish waist.
2. How old is he? In canon he is 36 (In theblackpriests: 34), but otherwise, he's played as 39 years old.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? It depends on the situation, as Smoker can go from a lazy slouch in a chair, to rigid backed and bristling on a moments notice. His shoulders carry a lot of tension in them, so they're almost always straight and usually a hard line under his jacket.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? He is extremely fit, muscled wise. But his health is something of debate, the stress he carries could lead him easily to a heart attack or something worse. It could also give him extreme pains in his back if he's not careful. He's also a workaholic sometimes, so he goes 24 hours without sleep sometimes and thinks he could still go on. He does this, without eating or drinking anything that's not coffee. He could also develope a bad liver if he's not careful with the amount of alcohol he constantly drinks and without his logia, he would most definitely have the beginning stages of COPD or lung cancer.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? He's actually extremely graceful, if anything. But again, his shoulders are usually tense, so it's like watching a ballroom dancer going through the motions, with strong lines and still moving beautifully.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? He is very attractive. And he knows he's sexy, he uses it to his advantage when it's needed (otherwise he smacks someone around to get it). He was known in his youth to seduce women.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? He's pale, and tends to burn when left out in the sun too long.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. At age 34, his hair is a green-grey, but when I play him at 39, it's flecked with pure white temples and along the line of his forehead.
9. What color are his eyes? His eyes are a greyish-ice-blue.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? His scruff, the scar on his shoulder and his scowl.
11. What are his chief tension centers? Shoulders, lower back and hands.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? Well, it depends, when he's on duty, he wears no-shirt, his jacket (blue, green fur lining, cigars on the sleeves and along the breast of the coat with the Kanji for "Justice" on the back), brown gloves and boots. When he's off duty: t-shirts and jeans. When he's formal, he wears his suit/jacket and a tie. Sometimes his glasses. The colors he tends to wear are neutrals, black, grey and white, with the occasional splash of color.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? Oh, they fit extremely well, he seems to know what looks good on him and what doesn't. But yes, he's very comfortable in his clothes.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? No, he doesn't. his glasses are usually left behind and so are his shirts, on the job. When he's off, shirts are back and his jacket is off.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Boxers sometimes, but otherwise, commando.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? A low purr, sometimes growling and growing into a hoarse roar.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? It depends on who he's talking too. If he's all business, he'll talk evenly and loud to get his point across, with children he'll talk softly and with women, he'll be a smooth sonuvabitch.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Not really, except he purrs. A lot.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? English and Japanese.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Not particularly.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? Both! Depending on who he's talking to, what he's trying to say.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Both! And oh god, if he's talking to a woman, he will be eloquent and if he's talking to his men/the brass, he'll do whatever he goddamned pleases.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? He's street smart, but he understands politics. But I'd say he's fairly intelligent.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? He thinks on his feet.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Both, oh god. He'll go for a logical explaination if the situation counts for it, but he'll try to follow his gut as well.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Marine Academy, minor schooling.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? Oh, well. Politics, fighting/strategies. He's interested in learning more history.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? Introvert.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? He has a laid-back, yet driven temperment. He's serious, and quick tempered usually.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? He's usually suspicious of them unless they're children.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? Act.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight? Fight.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? HE HAS A HORRIBLE SENSE OF HUMOR. Oh god, he will make jokes about him and Garp doing sexual things with a straight face and terrify the living shit out of you with it. He has no problems laying down perverse jokes and hell, he's up for the occasional prank, but he's also veeeeeery veeeery veeeery dirty minded and sick.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? Workaholic and various addictions. And he doesn't.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? HM. His training with Garp, going after Straw-Hat Luffy, the Alabasta incident and the War on the Summit.
14. What does he fear? Bugs. No, seriously.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations? ... to catch Luffy.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? That he's scared shitless of bugs, or that he's actually more bark than bite, even though his bite is still really, really hard.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. He doesn't have one. One's dead and the other is M.I.A.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? He had cousins, it was strained.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? There were not relatives he was close too, he hates them all.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? YES! Tashigi, Garp, his crew. Daughter/Sister, Father and children.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Hina, at first, they met when he stirred up some trouble in the academy the first day he was there. His best friend now is Tashigi and she came to him when no other person would take her as their subordinate.
6. Does he have other close friends? No.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? He has trouble getting along with people.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? Family.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? He's single in canon, but he has inyourf_ace in theblackpriest and is married to the same Ace in IM world.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? No.
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? Hina, or Garp. I dunno.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? Someone who's not afraid to push, someone who won't make him chose between his justice and them. They should be able to hold their own, but still let Smoker save them when he wants too. Someone who'll tease him when he gets mushy and snuggly, and still beat him upside the head when he goes to far. Who'll cry if he pushes them away, and not push him away if he does it to them, only give him a pathetic sad look and make him come crawling back. They should trust him as he trusts them, and have explosive melt downs that make Smoker go crazy with trying to fix it and have the same problems with expressing themselves as he does. They should melt when he sings to them and laugh when he does something silly, but also smack him upside the head when he deadpans a horrible joke at him. their sex should be wild and exciting, violent as well, but also have moments of slow, sedated and passionate sex as well. They should have floppy hair, huge eyes, cute childish freckles and a smile a mile wide. They should be the fire to his smoke... In other words? They should be Ace.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? In BP; no, but yes, he does want kids. In IM world: He has Anne and Collie, and he loves them dearly, he acts sometimes like the "mother".

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? No idea, but here: 75% straight, 5% gay, 20% fuck you I do what I want.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? He is very casual with sex, well, talking about it. And he gets that itch, he'll scratch it. But it's somewhat important.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? His turn ons are: biting, jealousy, his ears and throat, massages, if you get him jealous he will fuck you into the floor, dirty talk, FIRE, ace. Turn offs are drunk!Ace, getting called another name. WEird bedroom habits: If he's EXTREMELY EXTREMELY turned on his hands will be shaking like a motherfucker. They start shaking slowly and when his arousal goes, so does the shaking.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? His social status is commodore. And it has changed, the recent one to commodore made him pissy because he didn't earn it.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? His ship. He shares it with his crew, except his office/room.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? Others (tashigi/crew in canon), in TBP (Ace, Yachiru, Hope, Tsuzuki) and in IM!Land (Anne, Ace, Collie).
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? He's a marine commodore and damn right he enjoys it.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? He plays the piano, he cooks/bakes and hunts pirates.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? He does all of those. He skips meals if there's too much paperwork, he eats out because he loves pizza, he drinks alcohol like none other and he avoids oranges and most fish (the former because he's allergic).
