Nursing is an honorable profession.

However, there is nothing dishonorable at all about following your passion and doing something that makes you happy. It is better, I think, to be happy and love what you do and do what you love rather than doing something because.. (insert reason here).

the thing is when it comes to pleasing other people, it's quite pointless, especially about career choices. if you're doing a job you don't really have a passion for, you're not going to be happy no matter how much respect from other people that job gives you.
the people that love you and care about you will support you because they want you to be happy
