Basic Cake Deco Class

Mar 23, 2006 17:42

I waited ONE year for this class to start!

I missed the last round as MIL was away in Malaysia and I have nobody to babysit Nicole for me then.

Yes I’m talking about the basic cake decoration that I wanted to learn so badly. Was scouting for such lessons for a long time and was I glad to have found this class.

I spent a fruitful ½ Saturday 2 weeks ago learning the basics of cake decoration and here’s my ‘masterpiece’ at end of the day : )

Piping melted chocolate onto a plastic bag, outlining the cartoon

Spreading blueberry onto the bottom half of the chocolate sponge cake

Layering the cake with whipped cream

Covering the sides with chocolate rice

Transferring the ‘cooled’ chocolate outline onto the cake

Filling in the coloured icing jelly

Surround the cake with ‘stars’ icing and I am done!

It sure was a tiring Saturday, but I enjoyed every minute of the lesson. Am now waiting eagerly for the intermediate class to start!
