Frills!

So, after reading a spate of negative reviews of Milanoo.com, I... placed an order with them. And I'm delightedWholesale Disclaimer: Some people are shocked by the idea of ordering from Chinese wholesalers. If you're honestly the type of person who only buys thrifted or American-made items (I know a few people who do), then I laud your moral ( Read more... )

OMGCUTENESS!!!!

You look awesome -- and I think the dress looks fab, it's long-waisted enough to flatter your figure (that's a huge problem I have with a lot of that style of dress on busty girls, they really DID take your height into account, whee!) and the quality with the pintucks and everything looks really nice :D

*glee!*

Yes! The skirt is actually long enough, too -- and I ONLY noted my height, not my bust size et all. (In all honesty, since I can usually fit into a mainstream 2X well enough, I think it's more risky asking places for custom fits, you know? Just in some of the experiences I've had.)

It's reallllllly nice. I'd compare it to retail line Lip Service (although, honestly, I don't think my straight Lip Service is all that better quality) or the cotton pieces I have from the now-defunct Eternal Love. I paid about $65 after shipping! You couldn't buy a piece like this (even if Hot Topic still carried goth items) and it's doubtful I could even sew it this cheaply (since I'd have to buy bulk amounts of trim, and it's nigh impossible to even FIND black lace).

I think a lot of the lolita subculture people who are complaining about this company really have NO IDEA about production or what's normal for factory garments -- expecting things to be perfectly fitted, lined, couture items for $10. :P ( ... )

Also, I thought of you when I literally CUT THE TITS out of a Baby, The Stars Shine Bright dress.

I haven't posted that yet because I have to make sure I take really cute pictures to prove that clothing massacres can pay off. :3

Mwahaha, thank you; I had to edit out a lot of them where I looked, as they say, "tired." (It's just the trip, right? Right?!)

The only downside to the amazingness is that I want to buy like a billion things but really I should wait. Oh, the torture of cuteness...!

I loooooooooove pintucks. I've wanted a tucked dress/skirt for a while now, and now I have both! I need to take a picture of the skirt; since it's only tucks and ruffles, with no lace, it's really elegant and versatile. And since the length is ACTUALLY CORRECT, I can wear it as an underskirt for some of my shorter lolita skirts. :3

You ordered from Milanoo?? Brave indeed! It's not just lolitas who hate them - the majority of bad reviews I've seen have been from people who got their weddings dresses from them.

But you sure had good luck!

I took a calculated risk. The brides' reviews didn't seem the be the most... ah... thought-out purchases, either. They're obviously just a factory trying to produce garments; I highly doubt they're out to rip anyone off on purpose, but they -- the factory -- have no way of knowing what a lolita would consider appropriate or not. Or bride, or whichever audience... to a lolita, a satin dress might seem OMG SO OBVIOUSLY AWFUL, but to a fetishist, it might be totally fine ( ... )

I just ordered a top/dress and a skirt from Angel Secret -- I'll review 'em for you when they arrive, if you want to wait a few days :)

I may have kinda sorta maybe BINed the coat I keep looking at a few moments ago... I've given us all the wholesaler bug!

I figure a coat isn't going to matter much if I lose weight. I still really want this jacket and this corset; I like those lace tops and skirts a lot, too. (I don't usually like wearing all-over synthetics as a bottom layer, but so pretty!)

It might be more than a few days... I personally give all of these companies realistically 3 weeks-a month for production and shipping. I think I placed my Milanoo order on New Year's Day, actually, so about two weeks, which I think is pretty good.
