My husband's aunt did our alterations and she was VERY reasonable and did a great job on all of our dresses - including my mom's whose dress had a lace overlay. She's in Eagan, let me know if you'd like her contact information.

Also, you may want to check out the Ft. Snelling Club if you're on the south side of the Cities. They don't let you bring in your own food, but their prices were quite reasonable when we got married AND there are no taxes since it's a government facility. You don't have to be military either. I can't remember if there were taxes on the alcohol or not...but our wedding (in 2006), the bill came to about $2500 for supper for 130, including beer & wine.

We printed our own invitations from supplies bought at Target. The blank invitations were only $1 each, and it's not like people are going to frame them and save them forever if you spend $5/invitation.

I would forgo the aisle runner, because most people won't notice a lack of one (unless you're getting married outside and are worried about dirt/grass stains or something).

Thank you for the help and the advice. It was helpful. However, now I have run into yet another problem. My photographer just cancelled on us yesterday. 5 1/2 months before the wedding. So now, does anyone know of a photographer that doesn't cost a TON of money, and that does great work, that would come up to the Hibbing area? The ones that are up here are booked already.....I am in such a bind and I don't know what to do now. HELP!
