Thanks. I think I will. I'll be working with lawyers there, and I don't think the guy who'll be my boss is making $50,000/year. It's all grant funded, so a lot of it hinges on getting paperwork in on time.
Not that she'd understand that... she had her little mind set on that salary. I'll just have to avoid talking with her until after the new year... sigh. I learned a long time ago to NEVER talk money with my mom.
I completely understand, but I have no choice but to talk salary with my parents. They paid my way through law school, so they look at my salary as a "return on their investment." Since I'm not making the big bucks that, say, their friends' children are making, I'm somehow not living up to my full potential. It doesn't matter that I'm actually happy at my job and help people who have been wronged, and that I actually have time to spend with my family as opposed to being stuck in a corporate office for 12 hours a day....
Eh, it goes on and on. If I knew then what I know now, I would have taken the full scholarship to New England School of Law that I got instead of having my parents pay for Suffolk. There are just too many strings attached.
