Christmas at the airport

Yup, I worked on Christmas. This was just fine with me, my only thing being that I would have rather have spent a day lounging around the house with Nick and the cats, but I'll get that later in the week ( Read more... )

It comes down to taking responsibility for one's own actions and, indeed, doing unto others as one would like others to do unto one. And rude bastards don't get either of these core concepts of the religion they would profess to follow.

I've always seen it this way: If I'm nice to people, they will either ignore me or be nice to me. Either way they aren't an active impediment to me. It is no more effort to be nice than to be an ass. One way gets better results in the long run. Seems simple enough. But then we live in an era when the new leader of a Christian activism group was ousted because he felt fighting poverty was a higher priority than fighting gay marriage.

All I can do is shake my head and sigh. I had exactly one person sincerely thank me for working on Monday. It was from the heart, and was so sweet, I almost cried.
