I love you guys but...this is just crazy.
Thousands of people in our country are being raped and killed and starving and dying in New Orleans.
And we're all sitting here at our computers bitching about our day in school and NOT DOING ANYTHING.

Chris, I totally agree. I volunteer for the Red Cross, and last night we had a telethon at WMUR to raise money for the hurricane victims. I answered the phones for a while, taking pledges. One person called in to donate $5, and another person called on behalf of her company to donate $7,180 that a group of employees had collected. I think that reminded me more than anything that we just have to do what we can. It'd be wonderful if everyone could send in donations, or go help out the recovery efforts. But if we all we can do is pray and hope for the best, that'll be enough.

Oh, and this is Shannon. I found your LiveJournal! ♥

Hahaha! I have a question. How can I donate directly to the Red Cross? I wanna try to get involved with the Katrina Relief effort. I already support the ONE campaign, so I'm trying to donate more to help as much as I can.

You can donate to the Red Cross by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW or visiting http://www.redcross.org. Just click "Donate Now" on the banner at the top, and you'll be directed to the donation site. Thanks so much. It means a lot. ♥

I'm starting a drive to collect teddy bears and stuffed animals for the little kids. It must be really hard for them especially.
