So I wasn't actually banned from posting on Wired... turns out that Conde Nast was in the process of redesigning the comments system, forcing posters to sign up for individual accounts to cut down on spam.  After they made the switch and I registered for my own account, I was free to post to my heart's content on Game Life, Gadget Lab, and all of

On a sports forum I post on, some people promote this other forum as a "better" alternative. My first visit there, I noticed that you have to register before you can even see what's posted (no big deal). So I used an e-mail address that wouldn't divulge my identity to register. I received a message saying someone would review my application but never got anything stating I was approved or not.

Granted, I only wanted to lurk there to see if it really is a better forum, or if it's a private bash-fest, but my answer to them is "the hell with you" if they can't even tell someone if they won't approve them
