Hey sports announcers, the obsequiousness was cute back in the late 1990s, but could you get off Tiger Woods' dick, already? He's not a "superhero," as you boasted on NBC earlier today... he's just some guy who plays golf, and evidently not as well as the other contestants in the US Open. He's still the biggest draw to the sport, so the networks have to push him. He may not play as well as he did or others have gotten better while he injured, but either way, he brings the ratings. When he was injured and out of competition for over a year, the TV ratings for golf were down. He IS golf in popular culture.

At least he has some skill that doesn't require copious amounts of steroids.

Yeah, he does get some credit for not taking steroids. Still, it's ridiculous that the WINNERS of the tournament are getting less praise than a man who's trailing well behind them. Whatever happened to "to the victor go the spoils?"
