Thank you :)

Harry and Ron are in such a special moment here, with Harry wanting to know all about wizards and Ron wanting to learn all about Harry. I tried to paint the happy excitement in Harry's face, who is just as curious as I was to know all about the magical world.

That is SO gorgeous and wonderful! All your time spent agonizing over the details really paid off, because everything feels so natural. I especially love Hedwig for some reason, she looks so content. :3

Thanks ^_^ I never hurry when I'm drawing, it's such a pleasure to come up with those details, even when it's really hard and I lose faith in myself, in the end nothing is as nice as dipping your brush in just the right colour and paint for hours lost in a world far away.

Oh, Mnem. Your illustrations are always so intense, moving and romantic. You're right, this is one of the most important scenes in the saga, and... I love Harry's hands. They say so much about him, about how shy and insecure he is after 11 years with the Dursleys. Oh, I love him so much ♥ I want to cuddle him!
You're so special *_*

Thank you, there's so much about Harry and I wanted to put it all in there. Sometimes I feel these drawings are too rough, especially when I see the highly polished and skillfully painted art for the book cover, but in the end I did think of Harry as I knew him for all these years, and every bit of that is what moves me when I paint him, in my own simple way.

Harry's scrawny, as he's supposed to be, with the toussled hair. His clothes are shabby hand-me-downs. And you consistently put him in red trainers, which is wonderful. The Gryffindor came out in him before he had any idea of it.

As with everyone else, I love the little touches. Harry's feet don't reach the floor yet. There's a hook on the wall. Ron's lunch is tied up in cheap brown paper.

And Harry's face -- he can hardly control his excitment entering a new world. He doesn't have any idea what it will be like, but he is certain it's better than what he's leaving behind.

Your art is so much better than duPre's, which doesn't convey anything near the atmospher yours does. I agree with the others that I wish there were a published edition that used your art.

Thank you :) ♥

The little red trainers remind me of where Harry came from, he was part of the muggle world and escaped without really leaving, it all melts in one. In the books this combination of the world as we know it and a hidden magical world under our nose and part f our world but we're just too blind too see it ( as if only we would believe it, it would all come true). This combination of reality and magic makes the magic look real (lol, I wish I could put this in better words). That's why I keep the 'muggle trainers' in the illustrations, and i think they're sort of faithful to the books.

I had to redraw Harry and Ron's size several times, Ron as the lanky younger brother, the same age as Harry but longer, and Harry as an underfed scrawny little boy in too big clothes. it's really hard to pin their shape down.

a published edition I wouldn't hope for it to happen, but you can all make your own illustration prints, at least that can come true :)

I love that you captured this particular image. It's so lovely. Especially because it's the first time that Harry and Ginny meet. Without knowing what is going to come...

Thank you, it's so very at the beginning of everything, the more I reread the books the more I enjoy those moments when all is promising to happen.
