I don't make a lot of Dreamwidth posts. I should probably make more, but I do try to keep DW a little more bloggy and a little less random/social than facebook, if for no other reason than that its primary advantage is archival and searching

We had to miss GAFilk due to conflicts with my employer's annual trade show and winter meeting. Our next con is Boskone.

We wrote off Worldcon once I realized most of the hotel were a 20-25 minute (or longer) tram ride from the convention center, and I had trouble booking one anyway. Plus the loooooong plane ride with an energetic toddler. NASFiC is a bit too close to Contata for our comfort. I'm hoping we can come up with another summer vacation idea. Somewhere for the eclipse maybe?

I was wondering why you were not there.

As for NASFiC, same issue for me... Too close to Contata. (It means I need to find a date for a real vacation this summer to burn down the vacation time. (Maybe an out of area con combined with family visiting out of the area.)

It's somewhat ironic that NASFiC is, of course, too close to Contata for us too, but we're planning to make it anyway.
