Hey, the sun! I haven't seen it for a while, it's not a very generous winter after all. This seems to be a really nice day. The fourth and the second before last must be my personal favorites. Ditto on chikan, it's just really unpleasant, I got into that sort of situation three years ago and I still get shivers when I think of it.
Is it me or the sunny pics or are you really feeling more cheerful these days? And it seems that it's nighttime in Japan. Good night, Mnem ♥
Thank you, and no, it's morning here: another bright, sunny day. What I couldn't show you is how terribly cold it is. I'm freezing my toes off in the office at this moment. (There's no central heating, just aircon put on 'hot' instead of 'cold'. *shivers*
I love your posts from/of Japan. You always manage to capture just a little bit of something that's ever so evocative, somehow. My favourite photo in this post is second one, that amazing empty room. I can hear the echoes in there. Thanks for sharing!
oh, lovely pics! wow, the Japanese actually have a word for train groping. that's pretty miserable. NYC subways can be un-fun too. I have a feeling there's probably more of a problem than is being reported over here. glad to see the japanese are actually doing something about it.
I think a lot of women don't report the problem, I guess Japan has the same problems every other country has, there are girls with anorexia here, and girls who are obese, there are women looking for comfort in shopping which makes those shopping malls very sad. But those things happen everywhere, not just in Japan.
The only thing I find really Japanese is how a city like Tokyo can be so enormous and people are really distanced, I guess it's hard to make new friends in Japan. On the other hand, this is probably the only city with such a safe feeling, I can go home at night without being afraid in the metro.
