HOly crap when did condos in Seattle get so cheap? I mean, not really...but I see condos listed for 90 and 100k, which is pretty good for around here (of course, they are ground floor and/or not what I am looking for, but still!).

Are these in the Seattle area, or more like Burien/Renton? I've been looking but not finding anything I could afford in the Seattle area, like reasonably close to my workplace. Where are you looking at prices? (I was using Redfin)

just on windermere.com these are in seattle, one is in greenwood (89k i think) that i think is actually liveable but a studio- ie it is not super dated. It is true they are largely (and were esp before now) overpriced but hopefully they will become cheap enough we can afford to buy. Benefit of living in Seattle and not needing to use a car as much or have as much stuff (don't need yard work supplies and tools) does make it worth the money for a condo for me.

And they got so cheap because they're ridiculously overpriced to begin with and the housing bubble popped, big-time. Supposedly there's a huge inventory of foreclosed property that banks aren't putting up for sale yet because it'd flood the real-estate market with so much supply that prices would plunge.

That's not bad at all! I mean, I'm used to the Northern VA area & the Boston area, so, yanno.

What sites are you browsing? That's lower than most I've seen.

I'm going to have to start scanning there often, it seems. Thanks!

The problem with most of the ones that are really cheap right now is that they are either ground floor in busyish areas, off main neighborhoods I want to be in, or too small- I want a place I could live in for the next 5-10+, and a 300 sq ft studio will probably not work for that. Not with loom etc
