Ok, I am launching a new product. Natural dye kits. Awesome, cause they are mini (designed to dye 4 ounces/100 grams of fiber), but they are causing me issues figuring out how to put them on my website so they are easy for people to understand and not a total pain in the arse for me to program in to the website ( Read more... )

If you can't fit in all the detail you want to the packaging can't you have instructions for their use online? Or email it to people?

Do you want to list the kits by dye or fibre? Either way would work if you have 2 drop down boxes one for mordent/dye (whichever it's not listed as originally) & the second to add cream of tartar, iron, both (if applicable) or none?

I would list the kits as above then also list the components separately (with a foot note to point people towards the kits).

That way first timers can easily get a kit (have you got or linked to a colour chart by the way? again by fibre, dye & modifier. This would be very useful for those who haven't done loads dyeing) & those who know what they are doing can buy the bits they need.

Agreed with this. To me it sounds more 'natural' to group them by fiber, because if someone has a pile of fiber, they'll want to see everything you have available for that fiber.

That is what I am thinking is going to be the best option.

I can include instructions for one part (dye or mordant) on each package, which is why they are packaged separately. Dyes have one set of instructions specific to that dye, moradnts another on its own package.

fantastic idea - I have soo much to overdye and want natural options. I'd say put web link to instructions on back, and include print out cards thereof.

The instructions for each one does fit on the back/inside (I just can't fit both, as there is a fair bit of text)
