I dont know about most people, but after seeing it twice, Ive realized that, its not what its cracked up to be as a movie, but the musical quality can't be denied.

on that note im off to my myspace, i want to see if i got any new friends requests.
You slay me.

1) If there were an award (Pulitizer let's say) for Lifetime Achievement in LJ Posts, you would win.
2) UC SOCES...if they can have a UC Merced it can't be too preposterous, can it?
3) that's all.

Damn, I love all the points you make...I saw Rent on Broadway when I was 14, I didn't think much of it but I liked seeing a Broadway thing...didn't bother to see the movie though, because the play sucked in retrospective. Everybody acts like it's all "genius" and so heartwarming, but it's not really anything remotely special...

I'm a broadway musical opera junkie, and I happen to like Rent for what it was. I think that if you sympathsize more with third world affairs rather than new york bohemes than that's fine, but I would be a person to sympathesize with everyone with a problem. ehhh i have to get back to my 10 page paper due in a couple of hours...

main difference,
in RENT, the characters are fake.
in africa, the characters are more than real.

in Rent the characters could be real life people.
