[rl] the truth is sickening

He couldn't believe everyone was taken in by that woman's claim. Clones of Eva were nothing new. A way for the demons to get at Sparda's family and, eventually, their revenge. He believed that it was most affective on Dante, regardless of him meeting a clone before and living with one. The face bothered Vergil, he would admit it. He'd attempted to ( Read more... )

feeling homicidal (what's new; really), epic plan right here, eva, rl, dante

There were many things in Dante's life that were stupid mistakes. Mistakes, mostly, that he ignored and continued to live with in favor of not looking back. He had come to terms with what had happened, what he had done, and how Eva had died. Seeing Sparda again both gave an inkling of hope and a lurch in his gut at the thought of his Mom returning. Knowing that neither of them blamed him for what happened was a blow to his mentality as a human. Love would not cover all, especially not what had happened ( ... )

Vergil entered the building, which was rather cheap and nasty - the fitting enviroment for the clone to meet its end. It was pretty deserted, being late, but that wouldn't stop him if that wasn't the case. Knowing that his twin would no doubt have already picked up that Vergil was on his way, now, being in the same vicinity, he wondered why Dante wasn't out already to clash with him. At least after his fight with Dante is finished, he wouldn't have to travel that much further to end the clone's life. When they were younger, Vergil didn't have to do much to have his brother come running... then again, back then, he was much easier to defeat.

Once he pinpointed his brother's location, he picked up the pace. And when approaching their room, he gave his brother one more chance to give the clone up quietly, before smashing his way in there, dragging them out.

"Dante, give it up. Now," a demanding tone in his voice. He didn't slow down in his approach to their room.

Eva was pulled from bed, still wrapped in the blanket. "It's Vergil, Mom," he didn't add the "to kill you" part to the end of that. He couldn't bring himself to break his mother's heart. He lead her over to the closet, "I just gotta talk him down before he sees you, okay?" He gave Eva his signature, lop-sided grin that hadn't changed since he was a child.

It would be hard to talk Vergil out of this, actually, it was hard to really talk Vergil out of anything. It was why shit like this kept happening. Dante could understand his hesitance, but going as far as to kill her? That was not only harsh, it was downright disappointing. It was almost like he hadn't changed since Temen-ni-Gru.

There was no reply to Vergil given, just a smile to his mom as he tucked her away in the closet.
