if i were in school or worked at a school this would piss me off a lot. but since i don't...anything that keeps kids in school longer so i don't have to see or hear them is a great thing.

I have heard this debate before many times, and I honestly can't say I have an answer for it. Personally I would like to see school go year round, or maybe a month of break. Kids aren't getting enough education as it is. As far as teachers go...yeah it's a nice incentive to be a teacher, to have three months of no work, but that should be the last incentive of someone looking to get into this profession. I.e. teaching and students well being should come first, among other things. Plus if other professions go in and out, day to day, why not teaching

I think all I want Obama fixing, or trying to fix right now is the shitty economy so I can have a decent job. When a job in Lorain County or an adjacent county is posted in the paper I want to apply with maybe a hundred other people not a few thousand. Fix this economy!

i like how everyone thinks the president has a magical economy knob that he can turn up or down to adjust the economy at will. "Bush turned it down, but Obama's gonna turn it up!"

no one can just "fix the"economy". it's a natural fluctuation that follows the same pattern its been following forever. it can only get better regardless of who is president and what they claim they can do.
