write a script that saves a copy of all the source once per minute / hour / etc.
then use the copies to generate an animation showing each line of code as it is added/edited - new code glows yellow, deleted code glows red and then fades away, untouched code gradually turns grey. scale the text so that the entire code fits on the screen at once - at the beginning the code is in very large type, as more and more is added the view zooms out until the characters are individual pixels, changes are tiny spots of glow.
