it all goes up tonight
It's gamma day.
The house is warm and full of life. My jasmine is blooming and there are people sleeping in 3 of the 7 rooms. Randy is popping buttons on his mixer, practicing his set for tonight. The cat is overstimulated.
I am enjoying living alone, but my house is far too big for one. It's just right for 5 people, right now.

a new friend
Does anyone know what garden slugs like to eat, and what conditions they need to thrive? I found one on my broccolli today at lunch - the vegetable had been in my fridge for a week and the little guyrl managed to survive. So, now I want to try to keep hir alive a while. My house is very dry... i think that's probably not good. I could spray ( Read more... ) -

when is money "just money"?
I have a chance to take a really nice vacation trip with my best friend this christmas, but it will set me back $2K. It's a sailing trip in the virgin islands with a group of about 8 people. Not the kind of opportunity that comes up for me much. I miss my friend, and i adore boats. And a break from the winter sounds so amazing. But I can't ( Read more... ) -

Heather style of putting on a pair of shorts:- See the shorts on the ground and pick them up
- Lift the right leg and step into the right shorts leg
- Lift left leg
- Have an idea of something else you want to do around the house and start to go do it
- Realize that you are falling down because you are still standing on one leg and have not yet put on the shorts

A quintessential Montreal summer evening, in reverse:
- Midnight taxi ride with a talkative Armenian driver
- Long walk followed by a short, slow city bus trip
- Watching the fireworks competition from the far side of the Jacques Cartier Bridge
- A short metro ride amidst the throngs of explosion-loving humanity
