100 movies in 2009

Dec 31, 2009 22:20

I doubt I'm going to go past 50, but I thought I'd keep track of all the movies I watch (fully) this year anyway with this meme that's been floating around.

Rules:
  1. I watch 100 movies or more in 2009.
  2. I keep track of how many I watch in this post.
  3. I only record first-time movies.
  4. If you want to recommend any movies to me, go for it.

I liked Penelope. I thought it was sweet.

But yes- I must watch the Curios Case of Benjamin Button!

Penelope was sweet, but [highlight! I don't want to spoil anyone] the way she lost her snout was just...weird. It would've been better if they shot it differently, I think.

You MUST watch Benjamin Button. I know I said that some parts dragged on, but even those parts were satisfying, in a way. I cried so hard in the end.

I could have been better Im sure but I loved the costumes and the look of it. And james McAvoy.

I know- I cannot wait to watch it.

OH GOD I LOVED BENJAMIN BUTTON. Fantastic movie.
I told myself I wouldn't cry if I could help it, but some parts really socked me in the gut, and I'm a sucker for that sort of doomed-future type of story.

Honestly, I liked the historical parts more than the romantic parts of the film. But by the end, though, I was crying so hard that my friends and I left the theater after almost everyone else did because we didn't know how we'd look.

Haha, thanks. It'd be a miracle if I make it to 60, really.

I really, really, really want to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button! It's coming out in these days here in London so I will definitely go see it! And after reading your comment I want to see it even more!

It's a really good movie. I mean, there were some weak spots, but by the end I was bawling like a baby. And as a bit of a history buff, it was really fun watching Benjamin live through so many historical periods.

I loved reading your thoughts on Vicky Christina Barcelona! I absolutely adored that film! And I get what you mean by the characters being whole! I think everyone was so brilliant in it, and I really don't think other woody Allen films are better than this, even if I've seen many more!

I'm surprised. I've read so many times that Woody Allen is nothing like how he was before, with Annie Hall (which I haven't seen) and...well, that's the only "old" movie of his that I can think of right now. What other films of his would you recommend?

Well, yes, he was different, but I wouldn't say better, as I think his latest work is great as well!
Some of my favourites of his are Take the Money And Run (I found it super funny, it's one of the earliest!), Mighty Aphrodite, Manhattan and I also enjoyed the recent Scoop and Match Point a lot :)
