So at 1:30am, the fire alarm went off. I waited for a bit then realized.. hey, I smell smoke. So went down. Smoke filled the stairs, and it got worst as we went down... Sure enough, there was a fire. We find out 1.5 hours later that it was arson. Some idiot decided either for a statement or just for fun to set the garbage in our garbage area on ( Read more... )

You are right though. At least it was caught before much damage could be made and everyone was ok! No smoke inhalation or anything... just tired grouchy people. So that's ok. Everyone had no injuries, and still with a home to crawl back into!! (fire in the apartment is a big fear of mine!)

Although now I'm worried, our alarm keeps going off, and I'm sure it will have a "boy who called wolf" effect now... We have more false alarms than real ones, but still, it worries me because many people didn't even go down to the lobby!

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I woke up to our fire alarm going off at 4 Sunday morning. Of course it was a false alarm... AGAIN! This will be like the 4th or 5th time since we moved in.

Anyways, I'm glad to hear that the fire was caught in time, and that it wasn't worse.
