Taecyeon was definitely not a romantic. He acted the same with his boyfriends, girlfriends, and all of his best friends. The most he could do to be "romantic" was opening doors and letting his partner go in first, or pulling the chair out from underneath the table for the other to sit. he couldn't even remember ever being in a flower shop; let alone buying flowers.
But everything changed after he met Jay. Jay was different than the others, which meant he brought out strange emotions in Taecyeon. Just the other day, Taecyeon had bought flowers for him! (K, so it wasn't a dozen of red roses for his boyfriend, but a single deep pink rose. He had chosen it for the fact that it was pink, and Jay looooved pink.)
After dating Jay for a while, Taecyeon realized that he was becoming a hopeless romantic (something that he never thought was possible before). He was doing all the things he never thought he would do; candle-lit dinners with vanilla-scented candles and pink rose petals, Italian restaurants, couple rings, picking Jay up at 7, and all the like. He even bought Jay a dozen red roses for their date! (Sure, Jay had slapped him and called him cheesy, but Taec just grinned at him, and Jay was happy anyway.)

A few days before their 1 year anniversary, Taecyeon wanted to think of something to prove to Jay that his heart belonged to him. After thinking about it for a long time, Taecyeon finally thought of the perfect way to give Jay his "heart".
Going to his umma, Taecyeon complained about chest pains, and about his heart hurting. She didn't believe him, but he persisted. He even went as far to clutch at his heart at random times, and moan in pain at night. Worried, she got him some heartache medicine (which he secretly flushed down the toilet, or threw into the garbage can when she wasn't looking.) When it seemed the medicine wasn't working (because he kept complaining about it), she finally took him to the doctor's.
Explaining the pain to the doctor, Taecyeon went into the clinic and the doctor examined him. After many examinations and tests, the confused doctor told him that there was nothing wrong with his heart or chest, and that he was perfectly fine. Taecyeon insisted that there was something wrong, and that he should have his chest x-rayed, but the doctor refused, saying that if there was nothing wrong with his heart, then there was definitely no point in getting an x-ray of his chest.
Sighing in frustration, Taecyeon decided to tell the doctor. Making him swear not to tell his umma, he told the doctor about Jay and how Jay had made him all cheesy and romantic, so he wanted to do something extremely cheesy for their 1 year anniversary. Whispering quietly, he told the doctor about how he wanted to "give Jay his heart". By giving him a picture of his heart.. literally! That was why he wanted an x-ray of his heart so badly and he had been faking the chest pains.
Smiling to himself, the doctor agreed, and ushered Taecyeon in the x-ray room.

On their 1 year anniversary, Taecyeon picked Jay up at 7, and brought him to an Italian restaurant that he had rented for themselves. He opened the doors for Jay, and pulled the chair out for him. There were vanilla-scented candles, and red rose petals strewn everywhere. He wore a black tuxedo and had bought a bouquet of a dozen red roses for Jay. There was a couple ring in the bottom of a champagne glass, and a violinist playing music in the corner.
Jay glanced around and slapped Taecyeon as they were waiting for their food. He accused him of being overly romantic and cheesy, but in the dim light, he could see that Jay was blushing.
After they ate their pasta (Taecyeon had wanted to order spaghetti to do the "Lady and the Tramp" spaghetti string thing, but he deemed it as too cheesy), he decided that it was time to give Jay his "heart".
Getting up and kneeling in front of his boyfriend, Taecyeon produced the scroll from the inside of his tuxedo pocket. Handing it to Jay, he kissed him quickly on the lips and told him to open it. After Jay opened it, he started tearing up (which just meant that Taec got to hold him in his arms, and kiss the tears away.) Jay kissed him back, and smiled.
At that moment, Taecyeon knew that Jay didn't need him to prove it. Jay knew that his heart belonged to him, and only him. The picture of his heart was proof.
