Beautiful poem, i love the various metaphores for the tears especially "water cracking from your eyes like moisture from stones under heavy pressure." It really conveys how tough her mother had been on her.

that's my favorite line too! The imagery's beautiful and I can really empathize with the feeling though I turn into a cold-blooded woman when I'm crossed, bwahaha!
I always appreciate your recommendations. I've been feeling major poetry deficiency. also, I just finished Angela's Ashes. I swear it felt so familiar

I was also struck by "the/chopped crockery of your hands swinging towards me" like the weight of her past misdeeds nulled any right to supplication for forgiveness. yeah...I would really like to go to a slam any day soon
