I'll be a "registry" nurse on the labor and delivery unit, which basically means that I make my own schedule and I make GOOD money. The down side is that I am not eligible for benefits, which for me, is not a down side, since we have pretty darn good benefits through Caterpillar ( Read more... )

Hey, I emailed you last week for your snail mail address, but I'm wondering now if I used the wrong address. Can you send it to me? I have what is now a really late birthday card for you, but really, I wrote it before your birthday. That counts for something doesn't it.

You must've used the wrong address. I'll mail you my info. I'm all for stretching the birthday celebration out for as long as possible.

Most excellent news, and that is one lucky labor and delivery unit! Hug that family for me! Love you.

Actually, it's an upside, because we'd pay a penalty on my premiums to not use your benefits if you were eligible - and it'd be that much more of a hassle for me to manage two sets of benefits - and MMC is basically cashing out your benefits into your hourly wage (well, probably about half the savings, and they're keeping the other half).

So, at least on weekends, you'll be making more than me. :) Yay!

I find it more intriguing than i ought to that a married couple (for that matter, many married couples) has (have) conversations through LJ. But given the infrequency of meaningful time with my own roommate, even though we are quite close and have overlapping schedules, i suppose that time doesn't change once one is married, and that some conversations will really only happen through a medium such as this.
