Damn, I'm a good cook!

Last night I made Bangalore Chicken, vegetable byriani and naan. I would say call me "Chef Monica" except some of the naan was a bit crispy. I'll let you all know when I perfect it, and then you can call me "Chef Monica." :)

I would have to say this is already your title. I tried to make the soup but it wasn't as good as yours - but definitely better the 2nd day. You should post the recipe here. And everything else you served me during my visit was excellent too. Haven't eaten that way since...we lived in Champaign!

Indeed. It was awesome. It was awesomer to take to work for lunch - leftovers from 3 days of Indian food - kashmiri chicken, kefta w/yogurt sauce, vegetable biryani and bangalore chicken, and naan - that was a packed lunch!

I think that was the high point of my work day.

I don't know what kashmiri or kefta or byani or bangalore or naan is, but I'm especially curious to know this: what is naan?

It's an Indian flat bread that is usually soft and yummy. I tried to make it one other time in Urbana, and they turned out like frisbees. Seriously, I don't even think rodents would have eaten them.

Kashmir and Bangalore are places in India, so they are both chicken dishes from regions in India. Kefta is a spicy meatball dish and byriani is a rice dish where you cook all the ingredients in the same pan as the rice-it's one of my favorite Indian foods ever. A friend of mine in Chicago said it this way, "I could eat byriani til it comes out my ears!" I don't know if you'd like any of it, but I LOVE Indian food.

Maybe I'll get to have you cook this for me one day. I'm not sure I've ever had Indian food. You make me want to try it.

Hey, I've had your husband on my friends list for a long time and realized I'd never added you, so i'd like to if you don't mind. You two and the two of us are so much alike. Hopefully, we'll get to meet in person someday!

I made a veggie Indian dinner recently with naan and vegetable biryani. It came out pretty good, if I do say so myself! Anyway, it was for a bunch of my girlfriends, and we had a good time eating it!
