People v. Markson

Feb 20, 2006 20:08

I'm new here. Looks like there hasn't been any activity in a while. Any CA mock trialers? What role did you play? Did the script get in in most of your cases? Any interesting in trial experiences? Is "Blood Froth" the stupidest name for a horror movie ever, or merely one of the top ten?

hey, i'm from cali. Santa Barbara to be exact. I'm on the JV team, but we've made it second in county just the same. We're going against our varsity team on saterday for a shot at state. I'm the lead prosectuation attorny and then some silly Jes Marksons who cry to much, there hasn't been very memorable trial experiances.

And yes, Blood Froth is a terrible name. But no more worse than Masters of the Do Jo

wow, you're going against your own team!? good luck. Don't all you go to state, regardless of who wins?

I'm a defense trial attorney.

Memorable trial experiences? I've posted a couple on the mock trial forum including one where the prosecution counsel objected to the defense attorney blocking her view of the witness. That was so stupid.

This is why lawyers do not make names of hollywood TV shows/movies.

Script went out when it was my proseuction, and in when it was my defense. But luckily, both of our pre-trial attorneys won Best city pre-trialer.

Oooh, that's our case! What county are you representing? (I'm part of Contra Costa). For this case I'm portraying Francis Stone, ehhh prosecution's got a bad case. Yeah, the script murder by monoxide has been supressed in every one of my trials so far. Hahah, Blood Froth, that always makes me laugh. I always picture a cup of coffee but with blood in it instead, it's like... "do you like your blood smooth or frothy?"

I know. I always think "Killed by an expresso machine..." or "When Starbucks goes bad...".

I'm a defense witness! our defense pre-trial lawyer is awesome so most of the time we are able to keep the script out, except for this one judge who was ancient and was kind of falling asleep during the motions, he didnt even ask questions D: Blood Froth haha.. when i fist read that I was like, what the hell? x) but I love the name Masters of the Dojo x) because our team's Jes says it so hilariously.

The weird thing is, with our case, most of the time the script was in. No matter what side of our team went up. That was totally unexpected. Judges are weird. Personally, although I was the Detective, I think "my" search was totally unconstitutional, and I knew it, especially since I asked permission from Alex to search the storage room.

LOL. I wish I had that judge last year. The most frightening thing in pre-trial were the questions, then the rebuttal.

I'm Pat Choi. Yeah, that is a lame name, I know...at any rate, Murder by Monoxide was periodically let in, but not always. It was about even for us. Our Jes Markson wasn't really the acting type, so we had to train him how to be sad. It was quite funny!

We had to train ours how to be sad, too. We were like "think of dead puppies", which just made him laugh, of course. I like the name Pat Choi! Our Pat Choi was nicknamed Gung Hai Pat Choi. :P

I loved how it was called Blood Froth. I think that one goes hand and hand with "The Sparkling Badge".

The script got in about half of them.

I was Alex. (because I'm a Freshman.) Once they tried to pin the murder on me, the "angry gardener"- according to them.

It was the funniest thing ever! I got asked things like, "You were watching Detroit Doctors, weren't you? So then you went to sleep thinking about sharp objects that kill people!"

So I was thinking: "Okay, but she didn't get STABBED." but I had to say, "I suppose, but I sure didn't dwell on them!"

It was very fun.
