I loved reading this, as I always do.

And once again I didn't do it, as the date they have chosen will never be a typical day for me!

It doesn't have to be a typical day; they just suggest that you comment whether or not it's typical. The original one was on George VI's coronation day so wouldn't have been very typical for lots of people!

"If 12th May was a typical day for you please say so. If not, please say why it wasn’t."

There's still time if you want to do it (I haven't sent mine in yet because I know from experience that I usually kick myself for missing something out when I look at it a couple of days later).

Loved this. I did it too for the first time but mine isn't as detailed as yours - I must post it on lj later.

Excellent; I do really love reading these. Yep, I tend to go into a lot of detail. I could go into a lot more, too! But there are limits as to how much time I should spend on it. :)

Kevan and I were going to do this, and then Kevan checked the website and they didn't want any entries from people in our age group living in SE England, especially not if they were men! It was still nice to think carefully about what we'd been doing all day though.

Oh, I think he might be getting muddled with the call for people to keep *regular* diaries! They've been saying that for years, otherwise I would definitely have applied to do that ( ... )

Ah, tut! Kevan's usually a pretty careful reader but you're right, we could have submitted our diaries after all. I've forgotten my day now, but it had a lot of grumbling about estate agents in it!

Glad Item's coping all right with the SATs. They all sound a bit much, but I haven't heard any of the kids I know around her age complaining about them yet. Perhaps they're more resilient than their worried parents!

It is quite confusing - now I've read my own comment I see that I've also misconstrued it, gah. I am *too old*, ie a typical elderly woman who is presumably the epitome of the kind of person who puts themselves forward for this sort of thing.

I would have liked to read your grumbling entry, bah. And yes, Item is fine, I suspect because she's got a very good teacher, but I do appreciate that might not be the case for everyone.
