Reminiscing about BBSs

Had a maintenance window tonight to configure a channel bank on our Asterisk PBX where I work.  After getting the channel bank configured I needed some way to test line quality to make sure things like fax machines would work w/o issue.  I already had a modem setup to the channel bank so I could test from my desk, so what better way to test than to ( Read more... )

A quiz!

dunno, dial, answer, hang up, set speaker volume to loud, interrupt to Hayes command from in-band. Guess I get a 83% or a B.

After looking up &F, I see I didn't know it because I always used ATZ (which stands for 'Zap').

But do you remember which S-register controlled DTMF duration for faster dialing?

Ha! I was just having a conversation about the old BBS scene here in KC the other day with a guy at work. I remeber flipping to the back of Computer User to get my numbers. I miss LORD and Tradewars. Check this out though http://lord.nuklear.org/
