It can happen to anyone, when things keep screwing up: calls for the comfort of friends went unreturned, finally getting everyone together backfired by leaving all unsatisfied, and I construed the disappointment, magnified it, and took it on myself. Well, sometimes worry is healthy and warranted. Worrying (healthily) and believing in yourself are by no means mutually exclusive. Just slightly contradictory.

What's the Japanese word for "Let's all do our best" or whatever?

Thought about this some more, slept and talked it over. Concern and faith are best when preparing for more likely events, otherwise time and endurance are wasted on constructing the worst possible scenarios, and being disappointed by expecting the best possible scenario. So you have to paint in broad strokes with that, then work on readying yourself for more and likelier events as they reveal themselves.

For me at least, concern needs to be more reactive than faith, which in times of need just focuses on things turning out well with recovery quick and costs small and in times of peace just needs to be basked in.

Maybe faith should be constant, and allowed to grow linearly by being reinforced, and concern should be reactive and vigilant around transitional times that are ominous.
