Well, in all honesty, "Mod" is a scene defined more by fashion and visual style than music. True, music follows a very close second, but when you think about the music Mods listen to *and* generally agree is "Mod music", it becomes apparent that the term "Mod music" is a catch-all umbrella term for "rhythm & blues, jazz, soul, power pop, ska, pan-Euro 1960s ye-ye and girl groups that display a distinctly Mod aesthetic."
And even *that* is subject to debate, as many very heated on-line disagreements about Mari Wilson and bands like The Selecter or Merton Parkas (on various on-line fora) and whether or not they're "Mod" can attest to.
If you want to share Mod music, might I suggest modmusicshare? I can't guarantee that everybody there will agree on your definition of "Mod music" as defined by the guidelines on the community's info-page, but if you care that much about sharing music and discussing the music shared, that may be a nice place to start.
