I actually like 'fat' femmes -- although what constitutes 'fat'? If a woman is not as skinny as a friggin' rake, apparently, she's fat.
I like fat, brown women -- and it seems to me that I get a lot of hassle about that -- mostly from white people. Apparently, I'm not supposed to like fat, brown women -- but I do. I get that I'm racist, and also that there's something wrong with me because I like women with broader shoulders and curves. And who have nice full lips. (and don't get all wrinkley when they get older, like I will -- goddamn it.)
sorry -- the whole world doesn't fall under the skinny white women lover category -- and I get tired that I'm supposed to -- even as a queer.
ok I have to think about this -- what do you mean by 'fat'? if we are talking way unhealthy fat, then I don't think that it is good.
I was sitting having coffee in Vernon, and three enormous lesbians walked by -- not just fat -- but really fat. And I guess I do have to say that it looks like it is putting a strain on their bodies. I don't think it is healthy to be that overweight.
So I want to know what people mean by 'fat'. The ideal is basically underweight, so many people react by becoming incredibly obese.
Also, if you are that much overweight, you won't live as long.
(but then if you are too underweight, you won't live as long either).
I don't know if I buy everything about the phat pride thing -- yes, we need to be comfortable with our bodies, and the different body shapes -- but we also need to be exercising and taking care of ourselves. So I don't know how I really feel about this now.
