Car bomb outside the gate today. Some of our contractors died in the bomb. One of the guys I know here stepped in some guys head on accident.

You know the situation sucks when someone like me doesn't know whether you are talking about the bombing at the Green Zone gate or the bombing at the gate of Camp Summerall, in the town of Beiji. Both were pretty horrific.

Which one? Any idea on the number of dead and wounded?

It's getting different, i'd say. Their aim is getting better.

Yah, I don't mind reese's friends treading on my journal, but I certainly do mind armchair philosphers wanting to know "death counts".

Let me mail you a piece of a dead person, then we'll discuss death counts.

Not that I haven't been guilty of armchair philosophy.

Greetings. If you are getting this message, that means that you either are in Iraq, were in Iraq, will be in Iraq, or are an Iraqi or Iraqi ex-pat. There are about 50 such people on LiveJournal that I have found so far -- most of them soldiers or contractors who are currently in Iraq -- and I wanted to do something to help bring them together.

For this reason, you are invited to join insideiraq, the first LiveJournal community specifically for those in Iraq. The community is "members only", at least for the time being, as the intent was ( ... )
